Description

Subban leaves after the first year as he has a big contract to eat some of the opening cap. Friedman takes his place as a regular d-man. Extending Grundstrom, Highmore, MacEwen, Kunin, Nichushkin, Lemieux, Paul, Johnston, Fleury and Beaulieu are to-dos in the 2022-23 season. Let go of Pitlick, Eakin, Turris and Rutta if they don't want to re-sign.

Why wouldn’t the Caps protect Vanecek? Samsonov is exempt, and they wouldn’t protect Copley, Lundqvist, or Fucale

Doubt Seattle takes 13 players one year away from ufa.

Johnson is a Washington native. I'd guess Seattle takes him and gets a sweetener.

Easy pass on Subban.
Berdin over Beaulieu.

Allen and Vanecek in NHL. Fulcher and Berdin in the AHL. Better than some goalie situations.
