Depth moves

Created by: Ghost789
Team: 2020-21 San Jose Sharks
Initial Creation Date: Feb. 13, 2021
Published: Feb. 13, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
If Zadorov can just be a stay at home d man and help the Sharks with being physical that would be nice. Carpenter is a good two way skater and Soderberg is a vet that would help the Sharks win more D zone draws and on the PK. Sharks are lacking depth and a lot of specialists. They’ve got too many forwards who are not good in their own D zone defending and eliminating high danger zone chances. E.g- (Labanc)

Either the Sharks will barely squeeze in the playoffs or they will be bottom 5 in the league and get high draft lotto odds. Either way. This trade doesn’t solve much other than adding better defensive minded forwards/depth. Maybe help teach the younger guys a good D first mindset if anything

Buyout both Jones and Vlasic this coming offseason and try trading or signing to fill those two holes. Then go from there

I’m sure they would. Chicago may even have to add in a draft pick into this maybe or wash the Sharks 4th rounder. Idk.

This trade is horrible for the Sharks. We are going to be bad this year and several more with or without this trade. We don’t need those players, we need prospects and picks.

I just don’t see Labanc being worth his almost 5M contract. Also I like Carpenters attention to detail and defensive first attitude which the Sharks desperately need. Also Zadorov, may have lost some touch but he’s young enough if given an opportunity and role he can be a good shutdown D man. Sharks just need a complete tear down but i just don’t see Labanc in the mix. He’s the only guy who holds value, the Sharks would be willing to trade who doesn’t have a completely ridiculous contract.
