Description
My goals,
Vlasic looks done I would push him to retirement, fake a degenerative nerve injury so he gets paid and we can throw him on LTIR, or see if anyone is willing to bite if we eat 50% of his salary. As of right now Simek, Ferraro, knyzhov are all better options and middleton, Merkely, Jarvis, and Pashinuk are all chomping at the bit to play with the big club so either way I’m pushing him out the door,
I’ll sweeten the pot to get Jones out the door and I like Driedger a lot and with Bobby in town they arnt resigning him.
Hymen is the best right shot that I think
Is legitimately available this offseason,
This is a better team and I feel at least 1 D option and 1-2 forwards who look ready will not get a shot with the better depth and have to wait in the minors for their chance.

I want 5-6 mil of cap because Ferraro and Hertl and a few others will be looking for a raise so anyone else we sign will have to be 1 year only.

No one is buying in this market so I think we’re stuck trying to piece this together until we get rid of a few bad contracts. This team has talent just needs a few less bad deals and a few more good ones

He young and is drastically outplaying a 10 mil a year goalie I feel confident in taking a look and giving him a chance... just not too much term.

Uhhhh.. hell NO. Sharks are not giving up a first rounder just so Seattle grabs Jones in expansion. Screw that. They’re better off just buying him out, same with Vlasic.. he can be bought out.
And Driedger is getting 2M MAX. Guy is not a #1 yet. You’re over paying Hyman also.

Vlasic is just moved to LTIR? And then you overpaid Hyman and a goalie? That makes little sense

We are! Karlsson vlasic and Jones are killing us!
Burnside d couture are still worth their salary but for how long and what happens when the younger players need to get paid.

Not much available next offseason. This was the perfect season to pick players up but we dropped the ball.

Driedger is looking really good and the market won’t be deep so it’s overpay an aging vet like Anderson or one of the two Boston goalies or take a chance on a younger guy with upside,
And Hymen is the right shot top 6 we need, I’d love RNH but he’s min 8.5-9 if not more to pry him away. Plus he’s another left shot so I’m torn.

If we blow up and that pick is top 15 no, if we make the playoffs and it’s 17-22 I’m ok, this draft is weak, there are third and 4th round talents from last draft that have more talent than most of this seasons 1st and 2nd round pics.
I won’t be ok buying out vlasic with his cap hanging around for 12 years and Jones for 6 rather LTIR vlasic and force his retirement and find an out for Jones. Short term it’s harder long term is better for us

If we buy out vlasic it’s drawn out for the next 12 years if he retires or goes on ltir we can bury his cap hit rather than waste it -
And yes that’s an overpay for both the goalie and Hyman but they fit our system and needs well and there isn’t much out there better for us.
