Seattle can choise between Holtby Allen Khudobin Vacinek, they don’t want Jones

If the draft was after the 2017-18 season Seattle accepts. Now Jones would be the 5th or 6th best goalie available. Pass....

Probably not Holtby. Allen, Khudobin or Vanecek, Berdin and Daccord would be the top 5...

Yeah well, Sharks would prob give up to a 2nd or 3rd rounder for them to grab him and if they wanted to buy him out they could or could have him and Holtby. People tend to forget that Seattle will need to be above the salary cap floor anyways. They can afford it if they want an extra draft pick.

Ez to say, MTL could send Byron with a 3rd
NYI could send Komarov with a 3rd
EDM could send Neal with a 3rd

No, it will cost a 1st for contract over 5M
The only one who might no take a 1st to get rid off is Justin Bailey

NJD would be interested in Simek if they lose Murray, Kulikov and Vatenan through UFA.
Right now, Ty Smith and Will Bucther are their LHD on the books for next season (and they could be trading Butcher), so they will likely be looking for defensive LHD

Martin Jones is approaching a historic level of negative value... already past Clarkson territory 😬

At .867 after 9 gp he'd have to post a .920 sv % over his next 20 games just to get up to .900 for the season and then it's still .900 I mean gadzooks

At best it'd be 3 straight seasons of .900 sv % or less

Simek is reasonable value at a 4th/5th, but I suspect NJ would prefer to bargain basement UFAs this year to fill in around their prospects, as they have done in the past. His contract is fair value, but at 4 years, not a great fit for a team with so many prospects looking for NHL jobs in next 1-3 years.

Someone will take him, though, for a late pick.

Ultimately it doesn’t freaking matter to the Sharks. Either they can get Jones off the books though the Seattle draft or they buy him out. And owe ~1.5M against the cap. All of you who are speculating have zero clue what the Seattle scouts and management are looking for or have up their sleeves in order to obtain picks/prospects. Also I think it is an absolute ****ing Joke that Vegas gets a pass on this upcoming expansion draft. They’ve been in the league for 4 years coming on 5. No reason they should be getting a freebie.

Agree on the Vegas thing, but we are on a hockey forum, we will talk about hockey. Sure we don’t know what Seattle scouts management are looking for, but with what we saw with Vegas, it’s probably be similar
