I would love to get Ekholm but I don’t think Nashville will trade him.

That would be terrifying. Thank god the habs still aren’t in the same division as the Bruins.

Any trade for a d man with term means losing grzelcyk, and therefore is a really bad idea.

I think Ekholm could be available, but not for this return.

No it doesn’t. Boston can make a trade with Seattle for one. Secondly Lauzon is younger cheaper and more likely target. Grizz is a mediocre 2nd pair who does not have much higher ceiling. Losing him does not hurt with Ekholm/Lauzon/Zboril/Urho there, if anything it frees up cap space.

That NJ deal is a steal for B’s.

Nash is pricey but doable. But they are not trading both 1st and 2nd in the same year so it’s one or the other if they went this route.

We are well aware of your infatuation with Bruins d men. It’s not based in reality though.

Just three of them. I’ve been quite critical of the rest. If you watch the bruins, my evaluation of those three d men are pretty obviously accurate. It’s not like I’m going out on a limb here.

I could be wrong, but I thought Palmieri had just 1 year left. If that's the case, then Kase+2 2nds is way too much. Maybe Kase and a 3rd.

Personally i wouldn’t, but that’s neither here nor there.

Would you trade grzelcyk, bjork, Vaakainanen, and a first round pick for ekholm?

That’s what this is.

IF you are loading up to win it all now then yes. Ekholm will contribute for years to come. I honestly think Dunn would be cheaper.

NJD aren't touching this. Kase is a non-tender candidate and NJD isn't looking for picks.

It all depends on how aggressive our GM wants to be. I’m not sure Nashville moves him. He’s a huge value contract for another year.

I don't know what his value is right now. He has really struggled and has a pretty decent cap hit in a Covid world. Last year we get a 1st for sure this year I don't know. I hope they just sign him for 2 years.

I love Ekholm and could see him as LD1 in Boston for a good five years at least. But now is not the right time to make a move, unless you can get him straight up for Grzelcyk. Otherwise it's an expansion headache. May as well wait to see how the Predators handle the expansion draft. If they go 8-skaters to protect Ekholm, then he probably wasn't available for trade anyway. If they go 7-3, then Ekholm is very likely drafted by Seattle and just like Vegas they could be looking to flip an expiring contract. You can get him for cheaper from Seattle than you can from Nashville anyway without the emotional attachment. Either way, if Seattle doesn't take Ekholm they are likely stealing a top-six forward from the Preds instead, so you wait for them to struggle again next season and trade for Ekholm as a rental with the intention of re-signing him.

Not interested in the NJ deal. I don't understand trading a young player under team control just because he has struggled with some injuries early in his career. Ever heard of Frank Gore? Kase is a dynamic player and the idea of giving him up AND two second-round prospects for an expiring contract of a player who looked slow against the B's makes no sense to me. The Bruins are putting together a rebuild on the fly, staying competitive while actively getting younger, one of the hardest things to do in sports. A healthy Kase could end up being one of the keys to success and even if he isn't those second rounders will come in handy. Pass.

Absolutely not. Palmeri isnt worth half a 2nd right now. He has gotta put a couple points up. Also he is a rental so even less value.

Lol, so you are basing his value off 10 games this season? Please. LMAO. He has more trade value than MoJo did at the time or Coyle. If they could get KP without giving up a 1st or a valuable young player they would jump all over it.

Last year, the devils were asking for a 1st and a decent prospect for a two-year rental. Not a bad price, but NOBODY bit! Thus his fair value going into this year was less than that. NOW add to that the fact that he is now a single year rental. We can REASONABLY deduce that his value is a 2nd and an OK prospect... Fast Forward to 8 games in whereas he has only gotten 3 points (all assists, AND they are all SECONDARY assists too lmao), where he additionally is having his worst season in terms of all advanced metrics as well (CORSI and FENWICK)... Yeah he is worth NO MORE than a 2nd. Factually.
So Bruins reject that one without a moments hesitation.

And just to clarify the Nashville trade cuz I wanna just finish the work for yall. Bruins have made it abundantly clear they have no interest in moving on from their young LHD. Zboril is FINALLY getting his chance to play and he is capitalizing on it big time. Lauzon is a beautiful pairing with McAvoy rn, and Griz is a solid top 4 dman so no reason to move on from him. Even Moore looked good in his first game the other night with 23 minutes of ice time

so for you and @BigBadBruins214 ... Bruins reject both trades. No doubts about it
