What are Winnipeg's options?

1. Stay with the lineup we have and go nowhere in the playoffs.
2. Stay with the lineup and sell at TDL.
3. Trade for a Top4 RHD and get ready for a playoff run.
4. Trade for Subban and ???

Personally I like #3

Does NJ add?

And Chevy gets to get rid of his big signing mistake- both of them.

I would not trade for Subban, as well the quartine issues would not work in the jets favour. If they are looking for a rental it will be from a Canadian team such as Ottowa.

This exactly. Demelo really hasn’t been that bad. He struggled with Morrissey early, but when he was playing with Stanley they looked fine. It’s whoever plays with beaulieu that gets the short end of the stick, that guy is a walking accident.

If they were to trade for a top 4 rhd, it would need to be done now, and would need to be for a pick/prospects. They can’t afford to lose a roster player to the 14 day quarantine. Like a 2nd or any B prospect and a 3rd for a guy like David Savard. I’d like the idea of making a trade for Savard, good shutdown guy, and is best friends with Dubois. Might help resigning Dubois.

Trade deadline is April 12th. Do the trade at the end of March and any player from an American team should ready to go around the TDL. Also, I don't see a Top4 RHD available on any Canadian team that would be selling.

Would be better to try Stanley on his offhand then trade him for Subban.

This year it is only 1.175 million more in cap. Subban's 9mil- 7.825 mil.(Demelo 3, Perreault 4.125, Forsberg .7)
Next year it is the thing I don't like about the trade. Retain 6 million more but if it works out? Could Winnipeg convince Seattle to take Subban?
Year 3 + 4 Demelo's 3 mil per is off the books and one of our young guys, as in Stanley, could get that spot

Yeah not a Demelo fan or maybe just his $3 mil contract. Just to much for a 3rd liner.

Devils fan and agree here.
Subban at $9 million is tough sell if you are close to cap. NJD have plenty of cap room, so less of an anchor.
Get him at $4.5 million, he can be worthwhile middle-pair RHD for 1.5 years.
