Why are the islanders trading their number one d?

What could the Islanders get for Scott Mayfield? Would rather not see him protected in expansion, but also think he's got some trade value. Could there be a fit with Winnipeg?

Have Noah Dobson in waiting and get a premiere #2 in Pionk who will be cheaper long term.

I think he’s got value especially with his contract. My only concern with him in Winnipeg is can he be a top line guy who can play with Morrissey or Heinola when he’s ready. This is what the Jets really need right now, big top pairing RHD who can run a PP. not sure mayfield is that guy.

Chicago should get a better offer, it’s better to keep him at that price.

A first round pick is a huge overpay for Larsson and the Jets shouldn't be trading Pionk in any deal. Also, you can no longer add picks conditional on re-signing in the new CBA.

Larsson’s value is more along the lines of a conditional 2nd if he resigns and a decent roster player. He’s a solid PK and aggressive top 4 Dman, but his play could get choppy against others top lines. I’ll be surprised if he could get a first, virtually no offense coming from him and astonished that he has 2 goals so far.

RD what the jets need is a top 4 LD

They have loads of depth at LHD Morrissey Forbort Beaulieu Stanley Heinola Samberg, nothing beyond their 3 on the right side with the exception niku who plays the right side but is left handed.

Devils aren't trying to Severson now unless it's a big offer they can't refuse

I don't think that's close to the value for Pesce or Pulock. In fact, I'd be shocked if either of those guys was available at all.

Have Noah Dobson in waiting and get a premiere #2 in Pionk who will be cheaper long term.

Hahahahahahaha wtf? Premiere number 2? Is that a joke? NYI wants to win now. You’re probably trying to pry away their second most important player and offering them dirt.

That’s a laugh, Heinola is one of the top D prospects in the league, samberg is not far behind they’ll both be full timers next year, Heinola probably the top d by next years end.

Can’t see oilers entertaining idea of moving larsson his place on the team can’t be replaced Barrie however could be replaceable internally but draft capital likely wouldn’t be type of deal Holland would look at.

Yes but the arent dependable right now. In the future yes. A 1-2 year rental at LD would benefit the jets

Dirt? 50 point dman who can run a power play and distribute the puck and a 1st round. Might not be enough to get Pulock but saying it’s dirt is just a god awful take.

Disagree, top 4 RHD is the more pressing issue right now. Just my opinion

Everything has to be in the right context. In the context of trading for pulock, ya, that offer is dirt. Pionk and a first for some lesser d man might however be an overpay.

Now, as for pionk. The player has pretty significant flaws. We all know that. We all know he isn’t even a number two, let alone a premiere number two. I’ll give you a high end four.

I can’t find a record of pionk scoring 50 points in any league. Not the NHL, not the AHL, not the NCAA, and not the USHL. 50 point d man huh?

and the penguins are here to help you as Matheson is playing really well. So by TDL when we are healthy we can strike a deal.
