That's a lot to give up for Stephen Johns. Also, why does everyone want the Leafs to get Hamilton? He's so overrated it's ridiculous

I still like Hamilton. No question his contract is expensive but why would CGY basically cap dump him. JVR for 1 year and then walks as a return for a quality 22 yr old dman? That makes no sense for CGY who is not ready to win.

Ain't that a bad deal for the Isles. Top 40 pick for 1 year of Bozak. If Hamilton is worth near his 5.75m then the Flames wouldn't do the deal due to the term of both players. If Hamilton is overpaid at 5.75m a year, then the Leafs say no, and look for better value elsewhere.

The deal with Dallas was supposed to be for Oleksiak and Johns and as far as JVR for Hamilton. Hamilton is a great player on a good deal which is worth a lot. Burke loves him and the Flames have far too much money tied up on their back end. I think Hamilton will eventually be the odd man out. Also, Hamilton is not overrated!

If he is not overrated then CGY laughs in our faces.

If Burke loves him as you indicate, then Hamilton must really be overpriced. Fortunately for Flames, Burke isn't GM (they better hope). Burke knows little of player talent/evaluation. And don't be fooled by Burke and his press conference. What else can he say publicly? That Hamilton is on the trading block? Leafs and Flames aren't a great fit for trading partners, but somehow 90% of Hamilton trades on this site have him coming to the Leafs. Would like to see 28 other teams get on the the "great player" Hamilton trading bandwagon.

What i find hilarious is that Leafs fans want to trade JVR and Bozak, 2 really solid players who have shown great chemistry with Marner.

Get real it would take far more then just JVR to get Dougie Hamilton out of Calgary, Don't forget that Calgary gave up a 1st round pick+ 2 2nd round picks for him. So the deal will need to be close to that.
