I strongly disagree with the 4th line defensive winger, as we have Armia, Lehkonen and Byron. The other two would be welcomed, but only if the price is right or if it's an opportunity that they can't pass on.

I should have clarified with the 4th line winger here. I meant someone is about the same level forward as Byron but is owed less than he is. (Probably won't happen but who knows)

I disagree with pretty much all of the needs you posted.

1. Top pairing LHD we have Chiarot currently plays well alongside Weber on the top pair. Later in the season or early next year Romanov will play along side Petry. After that Guhle and Norlinder both have top pair potential. Our left D is set for now and a couple years down the road.

2. Good PP option on PP 2. How much better do you want that unit. They need to shoot more but they have the players in place to be quite good.

3. This one makes the least amount of sense to me we currently have Perry, Frolik, Byron, and Lehkonen who are all defensive minded 4th line wingers. Some cost more than others but they are all still very good defensive wingers.

I'd target vince dunn. and outside of that, I don't see any other issues with them. however, an impact player is a need. can Suzuki and KK become that? Maybe? but not yet. Hall would be a perfect target IMO.

i totally agree with this, but id love to add Vince Dunn. he's a really good player for the long-term, especially if one of chiarot/edmundson get picked up by seattle if Allen doesnt

I agree but Allen will get picked there isn't much doubt about it unfortunately.

For 1, Chiarot plays well alongside Weber but we could certainly be better at that position. They need someone who is truly a 1LD to be the bridge between now and when Romanov becomes a top pairing LD which is still won't be until the 21-22 or 22-23 season. Guhle and Norlinder could become top D-men but that's still at least another 3-5 years away. For 2, fair enough. That's just a personal thing. I'd like someone who shoots more on the 2nd unit. (Like you mentioned) They have players who can shoot but they never do. (Exp: KK, Romanov). For 3, I should have clarified I meant trade Byron and get a similar player for cheaper in order to maintain our great depth and get more cap space. Those are my thoughts if you disagree that's OK.

I just think our most glaring holes are different.

1. A game changing impact player, a guy who can take control of the game and win the game on his own even if we are trailing by 2 or 3 goals at the halfway point of the game.
2. A true top 9 LW. Toffoli does alright but I feel like moving him back to his natural side would maximize his effectiveness. Lehkonen does not score enough to be a top 9 LWer. Frolik may be the guy to fill that hole or Tuch or Mysak in 1-3 years.
3. Top tier RHD prospects. Brook and Fleury are decent prospects but we need to add more to ensure that we do not end up with a major hole in our lineup in 3-5 years when Weber and Petry are gone.

1. Very true. Not sure there's anyone out there like that besides Hall and I'm not sure he's going to be on the market bc BUF is trying to win with Eichel. If they really fall off he could be on the market.
2. Toffoli is likely going to be playing LW for a while with Anderson, Caufield, and Gallagher being our top 9 RW's in the near future.
3. RHD prospects is an area I expect them to address in the next few offseasons.

1. Yeah I am not sure who we could get that wouldn't cost too much in prospects or roster players.
2. Completely agree but was thinking for this season at least then 2-3 years down the road one of Toffoli or Anderson would be gone. Just a hunch more than anything else.
3. I thought that was the plan this season but they did not draft a single RHD.

1. It's very annoying with MTL because you can tell they want a star forward. They traded for Drouin who they thought was going to be a star, offer sheeted Aho, and then were seemingly one of the finalists for PLD. Hopefully they'll be able to get an star forward soon.
2. I'm thinking it will be Toffoli as Anderson has played really well on the top line, is younger, and has the longer contract.
3. High end RHD prospects are super hard to find because there either aren't many good ones like in the 2020 draft or are all at the top like this years draft.
