Fair enough. Sad part is that none of Vlasic, Knyzhov, Meloche or Claesson should be getting more than bottom pairing or 7th D minutes. Like Knyzhov got embarrassed a couple of times against Vegas mostly due to the fact that he was being played more minutes than he could handle because of Simek's injury. But we can't do anything about that so we're screwed lol

To be honest I have no idea why he's on an NHL squad right now apart from injuries. I haven't seen him play a lot, but from the AHL games I saw and the training camp stuff as well there's not really anything special there. Here's a snippet from a February 2020 article:

Scout #1: "The Meloche kid hasn’t improved for me at all. I thought he’d do a little better in San Jose, but he’s plateaued as well.”

Scout #3: “Not good enough to be an AHL defenseman. There’s a lot that I don’t like.”

Scout #4: “Surprised [he was recalled by the Sharks]. He’s physical. Maybe it’s his turn, thought it would be Carrick.”

Not really as down on him as some of the "scouts" but the consensus is there hasn't been much development there.
