Unrealistic Garland Trades

Created by: desertdog111
Team: 2020-21 Arizona Coyotes
Initial Creation Date: Feb. 15, 2021
Published: Feb. 15, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I’ve seen fans of these 3 teams make proposals for Garland fairly often on this website, and they’re all terrible. You are not getting a ppg player for a 3rd liner and a middling prospect. I am not exaggerating when I say that Garland is the best player that the Coyotes have put on the ice since they went to the conference finals in 2012. He is on a rockstar contract and with a ton of money coming off the books the coyotes will have no problem signing him to a bigger deal next year.

Now to the trades. You’ll notice I titled this post UNrealistic trades for Garland because that’s the point. The Coyotes will only trade him for a massive overpay. So save the comments about how unfair it is because that is literally the point. None of the trades will ever happen because of the asset cost to the trading team, and Coyotes will not accept anything less.
Trades
1.
ARI
  1. Amirov, Rodion [Reserve List]
  2. Hyman, Zach
  3. Sandin, Rasmus
  4. 2021 1st round pick (TOR)

I’d be pissed if the coyotes made this deal. Toronto has the least appealing pieces that would even be conceivably available

Garland
3.
ARI
  1. Bouchard, Evan

I mean, you are right that a lot of trades for Garland on here are absolutely terrible.... but these are the opposite extreme. These all demand too much except for potentially the oilers trade, but the chances they make the trade are slim to none.

The 4th round pick going to Pens in this exchange is truly a game changer.

I remember seen this guy play in Moncton a couple years ago. He destroyed the Q in his last 2 years getting like 250 pts. He carried Moncton to the top even without a really good lineup wth him... I picked him on my pool as like a last pick/chance and everyone was like wth is this guy. It pays off so far...

Wow. The amount of overhype Garland gets on this site is unreal. He's good, yes. But these prices are insane.

    Try again.

Thats the point. It would take so much to even get the coyotes to consider dealing him. I had someone on here tell me that Kerfoot and Dermott plus a 4th would be a deal the coyotes “would be stupid to refuse”.

I get that this is an annoying post but it annoys me to see the blind stupidity that this site breeds sometimes.

I am all for a price correction on Garland...but we may be over-correcting a bit here.

    I'd say closer to...

    TOR- Sandin, Amirov
    PIT- Marino, Pouiln
    EDM- Bouchard, 2nd

Again, that’s the point of this post. The point was not to make a deal, it serves as a reality check to people trading peanuts for the Coyotes best player

As a fan I’d be upset if they didn’t get more, but those are at least realistic. I’m definitely seeing through rose colored glasses when I think about his value, but I’m not exaggerating when I say that he’s the best player the coyotes have had in a decade

It was like Chabot (STJ) vs Girard and Beauvillier (SHA) vs Garland (MON)

If you say Amirov and Sandin aren’t good prospects and Hyman isn’t a good player then you don’t watch the leafs. Sandin is a future top 4 Dman , Hyman is one the best players in the corners and Amirov looks like a future Mark Stone type player,

I’ll be the first to admit that I’m not well-versed in Toronto’s prospects. All I’m saying is given the choice I’d rather have the sure thing ppg player on a great contract than 2 wild cards and a player that has spent most of his career being centered by Matthews.

He will be a popular "offer-sheet" fantasy for teams this summer. I'm guessing their will be countless "1 second round pick" offers.

The title of the thread was 'unrealistic trades'...but the point is valid one that Garland is one of the most underrated players in ACGM posts.

one of the most overrated players you mean. I don’t think teams are paying 2 top prospects and 1st for him.

This is the first season garland has even been close to ppg, he's 24. Calling it a sure thing is a bit much.

Simplified? Rambling about how you want stupid trade value for a guy and then telling people not to point out how stupid the trade value is is a great way for people to twll you your trade value is stupid.
And id like some of what he's smoking if he thinks a 24 year old with 14 games at ppg isnt a dumb ask at 1/4 the stupid values

So you're rationale is to drastically overpay? Absolutely terrible post.
