It'll cost way more than that to get anyone to take Skinner

I wonder what Francis opinion is of skinner, they were both in Carolina together, so could possibly be a fit, but going to take something rather shiny to even come close to entertaining the thought of taking on that contract.

No way Seattle takes skinner, some including myself consider his contract the worst in the NHL

Might have to give up two firsts to get Seattle to take that contract, and honestly that's not something Buffalo can afford to do.

Skinner is not a problem, don't forget to trade Hall, Eichel and the rest of the top 6 forwards who suck as well.

Right...except hall and eichel are at just about a point per game while skinner is at a point per season so not the best skinner take i have heard thus far.

The funny/cruel thing is, if you paid that much to get rid of him, he’d probably end up doing well in Seattle.

I love all of these conversations about Skinner.
First only a few Sabres played well last night and only he and Thompson played well enough to draw penalties.
Check out these NHL career stats:
    year......gm-go-ast-pts-PIM
    1991-92 64 13 18 31 18
    1992-93 82 46 43 89 28
    1993-94 82 41 26 67 42
    1994-95 46 18 14 32 24
    1995-96 81 34 31 65 40
    1996-97 82 36 31 67 29
    1997-98 75 11 18 29 38
    1998-99 75 12 18 30 22

    2003-04 80 16 20 36 38
    2005-06 77 25 21 46 58

From 1997 to 2000 this fellow played for the Buffalo Sabres with Ruff as the coach.
He played fourth line minutes with players who were marginal NHL quality.
It is easy to see the impact that a coach has on a players performance.
If you have not figured it out, this was another LW named Jeff (Geoff).

I was one of the few people in Buffalo who did not like the manner that Ruff utilized his assets.
36 goals in three seasons with the Sabres, with 36 the season prior to being traded to Buffalo and 30 the year after being selected by Columbus.
In each of those seasons he led the team (Hartford and Columbus), but he was a fourth line player for Ruff.

If he was exposed to Seattle, I am certain they would take him.
IMHO if Skinner played for another coach he would also flourish.

It’s amazing what a caphit does to a players value in the salary cap era, for some can possibly make or break a player. It really has nothing to do with the player either. Gm and agent usually negotiate the deal and nobody turning down that contract. Seattle maybe perfect fit, but not sure if they can even gamble with that term, that money locked up when in theory they will need it for a couple first year first rounders and players going forward. Probably going to go to die in Buffalo til they bite the bullet and buy him out and a Renaissance as a ufa
