Matheson has not been good this year and his contract does not help. That saying I doubt it costs that much to rid the contract but it is not enough to rid the contract and get a decent player to boot.

I really like that deal, I feel as if Legare (a former 2cnd who will most likely be NHL ready next year) a second, and Rodrigues (who can be put anywhere in the leafs lineup, he is good enough to play with the top guys, and his game can thrive in a middle/bottom 6 role) is more than enough for Liljegren whose trade value is not close to a 17th overall pick anymore.
