Will Dzingels role be bigger in Ottawa than it was in Carolina

Description
Dzingel spoke this morning how he didn't have the same opportunities in Carolina as he did in Ottawa with the talent they have, but now that he's back in Ottawa, he will have a bigger role and be the same player he once was. But will his role really be different?

I think Dzingel will start on the 4th line as the Sens forward lines are clicking very well right now and I can't see him taking one of Paul, Tkachuk, or Stützle's spot in the top 9.

That being said, I think Ottawa's forward group is very balanced (not much difference between each line) and they will be rolling all 4 lines pretty evenly 5 on 5. And Dzingel will absolutely be getting special teams time.

Also, a 4th line of Dzingel - Tierney - Watson is certainly one that can chip in offensively as well as play matchups if they need. I am a big fan of this forward group and once Logan Brown gets called up and take Stepan's place, there is not much more you can ask for as a fan for this season.

Nothing is set in stone, definitely, but Tierney probably won’t be split up from Connor Brown. The fourth line right now is Anisimov, Norris, Watson, and Dzingel should just displace Anisimov.

The pairs seem to be
Tierney, Brown
Paul, White
Stuetzle, Stepan

I wouldn’t mind adding Dzingel, Norris to that

I think Tierney and Norris would swap places depending on what they need for matchups and sometimes Norris would hop into that third line with Batherson/Timmy and move Stepan down to the 4th. Seems to be what's been going on lately. Since I've made this post, the lines at practice today were actually the same lines I had with Norris on the first line. I don't think there are really set pairs, they've changed the lines pretty often besides the Paul - White - Dadonov line.

Most likely a bigger role or most likely on the 4th line?

I'd expect Stützle to be given chances at center soon, honestly. Acquiring Dzingel facilitates that. Since Dzingel can't play until March 1st, that gives buys us another two weeks to trade Stepan to free up space.

Otherwise it doesn't make a ton of sense. Paul - White - Dadonov has been our best line, so Paul's our best all around LW right now. Stützle has been our most creative player and although it hasn't translated onto the scoresheet he's dangerous every night. Dzingel has high upside and in his interview he spoke about how he's expecting to get more responsibility and more minutes with the Sens than he did with Carolina (i.e. not 4th line duty). Tkachuk has been in a slump and has not been himself but he's Brady Tkachuk and doesn't belong on the 4th line. Nobody should play there, so something's going to give. By moving Stützle to center in two weeks, we can instead roll something like:

Paul - White - Dadonov
Tkachuk - Norris/L. Brown - Batherson
Dzingel - Stützle - C. Brown
Chlapik - Tierney - Watson
Peca - Anisimov - Haley

With Formenton and Abramov in Belleville ready to get their chance if we choose to ship out Dzingel, Tierney, C. Brown or Watson at the deadline for assets.

Tbh I like Stützle as a winger and I don't see the reason to rush him into a centre role right now especially when it would take a spot away from Logan Brown (with the Stepan trade). I think it's an unrealistic vision a lot of sens fans have for him in the next 2 weeks and I don't think it would set him up for success. And I'd prefer Logan Brown get a spot than Chlapik. If you read my description, you'd see I said being on the 4th line doesn't mean you'll play 8 minutes per night. Especially if guys like Tierney and Dzingel are on that line, they will be played just as much as the other lines at 5 on 5 and both those guys will get tons of special teams time which will mean their ice time will be right up there with the others. He will still play a bigger role than he did in Carolina despite being on the "4th line". As for the trade deadline, I think they'll be more focused on getting rid of the pending UFAs instead of guys with multiple years left ESPECIALLY Connor Brown. He's not going anywhere anytime soon
