I didn't realize it was that bad. Some Leaf fans are saying he's worth way more than that so idk what to think

Nylander is skilled thats undeniable, but he is super soft, takes awful line changes, never forechecks, scared of getting hit, HAS LESS GOALS THAN MILES WOOD

He is super skilled, undeniable, he just never forechecks, makes dumb line changes, has an awful defensive game, shys away when games get physical and yeah. Skill is his only good asset like yakupov, who had good skill but was trash at everything else

Only Woods (on that list)is doing much offensively this year for Devils... The others really aren't needed by the Leafs.

Great video, the puck was past him at retrieved by the goalie. Nylander was at the end of his shift. What was the point of staying in the Jersey zone?

Yea Nylander seems at times seems to irritate Leaf fans. But for some reason, many hockey fan seem to prefer a player who has control of the puck and then dumps it into. the offensive corner and then has to work to retrieve the puck again. Nylander style is try to stickhandle the puck in, or make passes, instead of giving puck possession away. For the some reason some folks think, dump and chase is more of work ethic play than stick handling.

You should check the video. He was tangled up with the Dman and puck went past both players into the defensive zone.

I saw it and he was being an idiot, lazy skating, lazy effort to retrieve the puck, he is terrible in almost every aspect of the game

None of those players you listed would even be the starting point in any Nylander deal. Leafs fans may not like him cause he's not putting up points, but those exact fans would be the ones rubbing it in your face when he starts to score again. This is nothing new. He's a streaky player, just like Kessel who fans ran outta town. New management sees how much of a game changer Nylander can be and won't settle for pennies on the dollar just to please a few (idiotic) fans.

A Nylander deal needs multiple things to even get Toronto talking.
1. A middle 6 winger to replace Nylander with some upside.
2. Address another position of need. We're talking defence other goaltending.
3. Multiple picks. Guys with Nylander ability don't get dealt in their prime for just an upgrade somewhere else. They get futures as well.

So from that, unless New Jersey starts with Ty Smith, or Jack Hughes, or Nico Hischier, or MacKenzie Blackwood.. Toronto doesn't even entertain the idea. I'm not saying Nylander is worth that or that's what will come back. But Toronto is in a clear cup contender mode right now and they're not trying to shrink their window. So they have no reason to move him unless they're blown away, ie start with 1 of those 4 players.

William Nylander...

For goodness sake, you don't need to show the same clip 50 times. We get it, Nylander is slightly lazy. That doesn't make him worthless.

Cool. They keep Nylander then because New Jersey has nothing else as valuable as Nylander to even start a deal.

Trust me Devils fans, you do not want to experience William Nylander, and the Devils easily decline while the Leafs easily accept

Again...

Leafs aren't trading Nylander.

Every fanbase has fans that get a hate on for certain players. He barely ever hits, and will never drop the gloves, so take a wild guess at which fans hate him.

Nylander is a 24 yo 60+ pt winger that's excellent in transition (gee that seems to fit how the Leafs like to play), he's fairly equal in terms of goal scoring and playmaking, and he's got a decent stick for stripping pucks.

So base your value off of what he is a player, not off of what some idiots on Twitter or Capfriendly say.

Puzzling to me why Leafs fans always seem to have a bug about the Devils.

I think Nylander is a solid player. He definitely has some flaws in his game but he still has value. However, it is idiotic to say that you wouldn't trade Hughes, Hischier, or Smith for Nylander

That's literally why I said to these people. That the Leafs have no reason to move a guy like Nylander because they're trying to win now and management loves the guy. & I said IF they did, they're not gonna do it just to please stupid fans. They're gonna address areas of needs. & realistically there's 4 players on New Jersey that even come into that conversation.

But people like them continue to take things the wrong way and make conversations worse 🤷🏻‍♂️

Yeah, we hate Nylander, Rielly, Kerfoot, Andersen and sometimes Tavares and Marner. If we could hate another dman it would be a pretty good starting lineup. smile

Does the residual hate for Tyson Barrie or Jake Gardiner count?

The same dummies who hate Nylander, also hate Rielly and for the same reasons, someone on twitter told them too and they still think it's 1995

From what I have seen on twitter the people that hate on Nylander are completely different from the people that hate on Rielly. The people that hate on Nylander are the boomers who want hard hitting hockey. While the people that hate on Mo are the millennials that needed to find a new scape goat now that Marner is third in the league in points. In the end, all of them are dumb.

I'm saying a trade isn't going to happen. Leafs mgmt isn't getting trade ideas from 7 posters on Twitter that show a video of Nylander.

So what's the point in continuing the discussion?

Maybe you proved my point. The other Jersey players in this post, have worse offensive than Woods. How is Ty Smith the point leader for the Devils?

He's been really good offensively, getting pucks to the net.
