EDM
  1. Gibson, John
Additional Details:
Best Goalie in the League.
ANA
  1. Broberg, Philip
  2. Holloway, Dylan
  3. Koskinen, Mikko
  4. 2021 1st round pick (EDM)
  5. 2023 2nd round pick (EDM)
Additional Details:
Koskinen would be a place holder as their starter until they find/draft a new one.
Broberg is set up to be a top 4 d-man maybe even more in the future.
Holloway could easily win the hoby baker this year and has potential to be an all star level center.
The first will probably be around the mid which could be a great player with the right scouts.
The second is too sweeten.

Way to much. Move on to someone else if thats what it takes. Take out Holloway and when was the last time a goalie went for a first. Lehner twice. So a first Koski and Broberg is enough. Otherwise no

In my opinion he is he has gotten a terrible ducks team who should be dead last in a playoff position.

The first is going to be around mid first so it won't hold extreme value. Gibson in my personal opinion is the best goalie in the league and has an amazing contract which is a bonus and worth even more.

I bet we'll trade for/sign a top-tier goalie and they'll forget how to play hockey first thing they unpack their suitcase in Edmonton. Classic Oilers. Talbot had a good season then fell off a cliff, Koski has way underperformed his contract this season. Im sure we'll have more of the same with whatever we do in the future. I'd rather try our luck on a free agent this summer

Ohhhh we in the west know Gibson. Holloway is someone I am not getting rid of. He is a swiss army knife and d sound which is exactly the type of player we need and will be NHL ready fast. He is a no go.

Understandable but edmonton shouldn't give up bouchard either which is probably another piece anehiem would want. Hoby baker winners don't always live up to their potential all the time anyways in college hockey so hollaway could be misleading. If not hollaway we would have to give up another first which isn't ideal but would also get the job done.

Free agency could potential be a bigger risk then this. If we throw a ton of money at a guy in free agency we could be stuck in a bobrovsky situation which would set the whole franchise back.

Give up a RW as we have tons of them. JP and Yama are young and already in the line up. We have Lavoie and that other guy as well

Why would Edmonton give up so much of their future for Gibson (.921)? I don't see the logic... they could keep all those guys and sign Binnington (.918) in the summer if they wanted to. Or Grubauer (.937), or Halak (.938).

BTW, since the start of 2019-20:

Gibson: 2.87 GAA / .907 Sv% / .822 HDSv%
Koskinen: 2.94 GAA / .911 Sv% / .830 HDSv%

Gibson isn't the answer to all the Oilers problems. And yet you're giving up their top-3 assets like he is.

This is dangerously close to fair value.* My only insight is that we're flush on LDs, and we probably wouldn't do the deal without Bouchard instead of Broberg.

* I'm slightly biased because I'm a Badger alum.

Exactly. Further more aren't all the goalies in this Canadian conference getting lit up?

Thats only if those teams even let those goalies go the odds the blues and the avs let those guys go are very slim. Halak is very old and will be declining if we sign him. Koskinen had had a down year this year while gibson has some how performed eilitely with a terrible d this year. Gibson also has an a elite contract and would be their long term answer.

As much as I beleive that my deal is a overpayment with hollaway and a second. That deal is not good at all the first will be mid and bear at his highest potential is top 4.

Since the start of 2021:

Gibson: . . . . . . .2.33 GAA - .921 Sv% - 3 shutouts
Koskinen: . . . . .3.43 GAA - .894 Sv% - 1 assist

The west goalies are getting lit up like the 4th of July, Gibson would be different stats in the Canadian division drastically as well
