Description

Looks like NJD will roll with 11 F and 7 D tonight in their first game back (1 dman and 2 goalies as healthy scratches).

NJD will have to make a move soon...either placing d-man or goalie on waivers or trading one. Hischier, Gusev back within a week.

Right now, they have 11 forwards, 8 dmen and 4 goalies on their roster

Kulikov also back soon - he would be 9th dman. (Other than Ty Smith, they all gotta clear waivers)

Including the Taxi Squad the Devils have 5 goalies on the NHL roster right now (Blackwood, Dell, Wedgewood, Comrie, Cormier). It's like Fitz is trying to play Monoply and horde all the backup/3rd string goalies in the league.

Also the Binghampton Devils signed Jeremy Brodeur.

Long answer, its a 'doesn't fit system' mistmatch as far as we have been told. They have plenty of puck-moving d-men (Severson, Subban, Smith, Vatenan) and Butcher found himself odd man out. No injury or anything as far as we know. Lindy Ruff system and John Hynes systems are very different...so it could be as simple as that. But who knows...we thought he was pretty good too.

Interesting. Don't take this the wrong way, but I'm hoping for a trade. I like him and would like to see him play some.

With the TDL on April 12 and Playoffs start May 8, as of now, I could see Fitz/ sellers trying to start making deals now with all the quarantine issues.
