A 1st seems like a bit much tbh, especially cuz he will have to quarentine. I'm not saying that lowers his overall value, but it lowers the amount of assets a Canadian team would be willing to give up for him.

Think about it like a 1st for combined
1. getting the player
2. the retention
3. dumping Engvall

I think it's about right

The Leafs could drop Engvall then, or move him to a different team if they need the cap space. He doesn't add any value to the offer for NSH.

Engvall is not a "dump". He makes 1.25 and honestly he has been good so far this year in the opportunities he has been given. He is just a victim of Toronto's stacked depth up front.

He can't make Toronto's bottom 6. At 1.25 that's a cap dump

-_- did you not listen to what I said. It would be very easy for him to make the bottom 6 on a lot of other teams, including Nashville. Toronto just has a lot of guys up front. Let me remind you, when healthy:
Thornton-Matthews-Marner
Hyman-Tavares-Nylander
Mikheyev-Kerfoot-Simmonds
Vesey-Boyd-Spezza

I mean the only guy he could really knock out there is Vesey and that's probably not happening since Vesey's dad works for the organization.

Your right, he's not a cap dump, but he also doesn't have a lot of value, maybe he could grab a 5th-7th rounder or something. All I'm saying is you will get a better offer from an American team simply because of the quarantine time, but because that factor is in play, that is why I don't think you get an offer better then that from a Canadian team

Tolvanen or Trenin. Better then both, especially in his own end

Simmonds will be out for a while

I’d like to see a 3rd line like this
Robertson- Kerfoot- Hyman

Trenin is a center. tolvanen still has some upside and would probably play over Engvall

Like we all know its true. Vesey has 3 points in 16 games. Like its no secret he should have been scratched for a few by now

I am not disagreeing with you. Merit has little to do the roster and lineup decisions of the Leafs.

I expect there to be quite a bit of turnover in NSH next season -- if he ended up in NSH, I don't think he would be much more than a 12/13 forward though. Right now? NSH has a revolving door bottom 6, so I'm sure he would see some games.

Says the capfriendly poster.

Have you submitted your resume for the job? Maybe they picked Greg Moore instead of you? Is that why your feelings always seem so hurt?

Team has admitted such, and it has been well known for years that the reason they attract overseas free agents is because they promise them positions.

I don't think a first would need to be added for Granlund, feel like that is too much. I'm also of the opinion that you don't need to pay to dump Engvall. If you think he should not play, just burry him, maybe someone takes him on waivers or you take the 250k hit or whatever it is this year and next. I don't think dubas will move a first for a rental.

They've demoted or traded several of them.

No guarantee Barabanov makes opening night roster with a regular camp and full exhibition schedule. It made sense to give him a shot considering he uprooted his life to move here.

I'd consider that just being decent human beings.

And I certainly don't see it as something to b*tch and moan about.

Keep up the good fight pal. I'm sure Keefe/Dubas et al. are tearing up reading your little snide remarks on hockey forums.

I care as little about what they think as I do about what you think.
