Not a fan, Pokka can't seem to crack blackhawk roster, would also prefer to use Kapanen to land a big fish Defenseman

I've seen this trade before, and it has its merits, just not a fan

From what Hawks fans tell me, he is going to be in the NHL (or he's very close) but it's a crowded blueline. It seems like he is in line to replace Roszival and or TVR next year.

LeafsFan. Until Kapanen can prove himself to be an NHLer, he isn't going to land a big fisherman. Although scoring points mean little when measuring a players value, Kapanen is 8th in AHL at 20 years of age. He's going to be giving a shot as the Leafs RWer with Marner, and likely Nylander will be moved to centre. Plenty of other ways for the Leafs to get a Dman without trading their # 1 forward prospect.
A younger Valiev, Pokka and Nielsen seem to have as much promise as Dman to make the NHL as Pokka.

I'd do it as a leaf fan. Not sure what Pokka's stock is like. It was once much higher than Kaps

I disagree. Pokka is in the NHL if it isn't for the hawks having 7 solid d men. His time will come later this year or next.

Valiev, (Dermott? I think you meant) and Nielsen are all good prospects but are probably further away from being labelled NHL caliber.

I still want to see JVR moved for the best D man they can get that can play the right side. Doesn't need to be a top 2.

You're right leafs1967. Valiev, Dermot, Nielsen are 1,2,3 years younger than Pokka. Trading for Pokka, especially a top prospect doesn't make sense to me. Come summer, before the draft, I think there will be player movement.
And JVR, hope you're right. Even if it's a vet than can bridge the cap when hopefully the three youngsters or others (hopefully) or NHL ready.
