They just have no use for any defensive prospects. Kerfoot isn’t really good at all, and Malgin, probably won’t be anything.

Sabres want no part of this, Toronto dumps its garbage, its dumb. Start with Robertson, and they'll take Kerfoot+ to make the cap work

No team In the whole league will give up their top prospect for a rental. Sabres would be all over this deal, not like they’re gonna make the playoffs anyways, they might as well get assets for their UFAs.

The Sabres would sit on Hall or have better offers. This trade is terrible

Fair, but it’s absurd to think that the leafs would offer Robertson for 3 months of hall

could be the difference between 1 month and 3 months. You want a cup or a prospect

It's a roster player, a prospect, and a first. He's a rental what more do you want

I want stuff the Sabres need, not a pile of trash that fits the generic offer criteria

I mean, this is basically what Arizona gave up for hall

So...
You'd rather have Hall stay in Buffalo for the remainder of the year, where the team is almost certainly going to miss the playoffs and Hall will leave at the end of the year, instead of getting some decent return for him? You're not getting more than this from the leafs. This is the max any team is paying for Hall.

Probably but you can get different prospects and a different roster player. From a different team. Toronto shouldn’t worry about getting Hall. They need to get another goalie like Raanta, because we all know Andersen won’t show up come playoff time.

If something decent is offered I would take it. Kerfoot isnt it. Kerfoot also costs 3.5 mill and is locked in for 3 more years, so if nothing changes after he comes to Buffalo, theyre stuck with him eating up more indispensable cap... So yes Id rather have Hall walk, if this is the best offer Buffalo can get for him

Kerfoot is the 3rd most valuable piece in this trade going to Buffalo...

Liljegren wont make the Sabres roster and a late 1st, at best, is a decent player in 4-5 years

I guess... But they aren't going to win this season, and Hall will leave next season, so... why would they turn it down? That's bad asset management.

Theirs no assets, youre giving Buffalo a 3.5 mill cap penalty, an AHL D man, a depth forward and aa late first which will statistically, probably end up a depth forward. Their would also be better offers even if he wasnt on the market.

Kerfoot is still a good 3rd liner even if he is overpaid, Liligeren is 20 and will at least be a bottom paring guy, likely top 4, and the first is whatever Buffalo want with the pick, which is undecided now of course. But whatever, keep him and let him walk, Toronto can get a cheaper top 6 winger anyway.

Sabres have 7 good 3rd liners. Liljegren is already behind Risto, Jokiharju, Montour, Miller, Borgen, and Laaksonen and the Sabres still have Ryan Johnson to sign
