Even if he never takes another step forward, I'd take Mantha over DeBrusk, and he has potential to be a lot better than DeBrusk if he reaches his 30-goal, 60+ point upside. (Not trying to diminish DeBrusk but Mantha is better)

Ryan (essentially worth a 2nd) + 2nd >>>>>>>>>> Bjork.

Detroit easily rejects.

Welcome to CapFriendly and try not to take anything personally. That being said this trade is pretty lopsided but overvaluing your favorite team's players is something every new user does.

Not going to argue whose better between Mantha and DeBrusk, but their numbers over the last 3 full seasons are pretty close.

They might not be that different, but or me the big difference is that Mantha is producing at this rate on an awful, low-scoring Detroit team, while DeBrusk gets the advantage of playing on a cup contending team.

RNH is a pretty reasonable target for boston in the offseason.

Detroit doesn’t like the deal, and personally I’m just not a fan of hanifin.

Mantha during that time frame had the following top 3 linemates:

Larkin
Nyquist
Bertuzzi

DeBrusk had the following top 3 linemates:

Krejci
Coyle
Heinen

Again not arguing whose better, just pointing out that Mantha vs DeBrusk is a lot closer than some may think. If you want to give Mantha the leg up because he plays for a ****ty team that's your prerogative, but looking at his linemates, I'd say he's played and playing with some equally talented players.

It’s all fine. I get the nay-sayers and it’s not taken personal.

I stand by the idea of the trades. Might be a little off on the 2nd from Detroit but it’s not that far off. Bjork would fit well with Detroit’s never ending rebuild. Maybe Bs swap 2nds to make it a little more “fair”.

RNH is definitely an off season acquisition target but the Bs need to move out players out. For example. If the and get RNH, is he’s second line center? Where does Studnicka fit in then with Coyle locked up for a while? Is RNH going to play wing or Coyle 2nd line Center?

DeBrusk has the same ceiling as Mantha. Other’s have already provided the stats.

Ryan was a pick-up to be used for a trade to get another pick. Is Detroit expecting a 1st for him? Not gonna happen. Would you rather a pick or a NHL ready player under contract for a few years?

If you take Hanifin out the Calgary trade is fair.

As others have said. These are really lopsided in Bruins favor.

Obviously no one is giving up a 1st for Ryan but no way is Bjork worth Ryan + a 2nd.

If they sign RNH it means Krejci probably gone. With Marchand, Ritchie, Debrusk top 3 LW assume RNH is 2nd center. Studnicka and Coyle fill 3rd line C, RW with both being versatile enough for either. My best guess.
