Technically this is making the team worse in virtually every metric other than future cap saving...... Considering future cap space isnt an issue for the Habs, thats even debatable.

Not that it's a big deal but I don't see why Detroit would take on extra salary to acquire a player who wouldn't even be in our lineup.

The difference in salary is $375K, Neither is an NHL player and their contracts expire at the end of the season. Neither player makes their team better or worse. So who really cares?

I don't see the Detroit happening. Nneither player is worth the hassle of making the trade happen with COVID protocol calls that have to be followed. Doesn't the Canadien government require a 7 day quarantine before letting anyone enter the country.
