Moving some kids

Created by: leafs1967again
Team: 2016-17 Toronto Maple Leafs
Initial Creation Date: Dec. 13, 2016
Published: Dec. 13, 2016
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Trades
1.
TOR
  1. Gudas, Radko
  2. Myers, Philippe
Additional Details:
Dirty but effective, Gudas can play top 4 minutes on the right side. Will allow Carrick to play bottom 6 to stabilize the bottom pairing.

Myers is a 6 foot 5 undrafted (I believe) Dman excelling in the qmjhl. People are starting to talk about him and PHI has a surplus of D.
PHI
  1. Hyman, Zach
  2. Kapanen, Kasperi
  3. 2018 3rd round pick (SJS)
2.
TOR
  1. 2017 5th round pick (EDM)
EDM
  1. Corrado, Frank
Additional Details:
Nurse went down. Frank plays the opposite side. I could be wrong, but I think EDM could use a dman?
3.
TOR
  1. Connor, Kyle
  2. Stafford, Drew
Additional Details:
Just because I want the brain trust to be proactive on a long-term top 6 scoring LWer

I love all the players you're getting in the Philly trade, but I'm just not sure the Leafs are gonna move Hyman for it. Babs loves that guy even if he's not doing that great so far. He's gritty and been known for being hard on the puck and great possession numbers.
I'm not a fan of the Winnipeg trade. Komarov has great chemistry with Kadri and Brown is loved by Babcock the same way that Hyman has been, hence why he isn't on the fourth line anymore. And Connor has also been struggling a bit to get a good footing this year (granted it's his first NHL season) but Stafford isn't doing any better with only four points this season. I feel like adding in the pick was way too much and if anything should probably be going back to Toronto if anything, but that's just my opinion, since I do love Brown.
I get the reason for Connor, but not the price for him and I love Myers and Gudas, but I'm thinking the Leafs would rather move another forward before Hyman or Brown

Babcock won't trade Hyman or Brown any time soon let alone both. They are going to be a mainstay on the leafs PK for a long time.

Stafford was more for the negative value and 1 year contract FYI.
