change the lines

Created by: pharrow
Team: 2020-21 Pittsburgh Penguins
Initial Creation Date: Feb. 17, 2021
Published: Feb. 17, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
At some point they need to move Sully.
He just doesn't know what the hell he's doing and the team doesn't care to deal with him anymore.

They need to give Malkin his winger back in Rust to start.
They can also put Zucker on Crosby's line where there is better chemistry.

The 4th line is ****. That's all there is to that. That's on JR. He did nothing to help that line this offseason. The negligence is real.
That line is going to be a serious offseason project.
At least they have McCann, maybe they will finally play Poulin and if they move Matheson they got 4 mil of cap space to get a center.

How long does it take Sully to get away from doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.
He's done this with his system as well. How many times will they try to force the puck high slot with the 4 defenders just waiting for it to go there. It's like he's incapable of adjusting. Change the game plan, mix it up. Do something different...... these are reasons the team struggles. Hell when you can watch them play and basically know everything they are going to do before they do it, you aren't going to get anywhere.

I think if it wasn't this stupid bubble crap they are doing teams would have fired coaches by now.
But if you fire a coach now, you then have to replace people etc... it's a pain. But truth is, teams got to. They won't fix what's wrong till they do.

Sullivan is way too stubborn. He won't make any meaningful changes to the lines, and the line changes he *does* make are head-scratchers. For instance, he put Tanev on Malkin's wing in the last game even though Tanev's line was doing just fine.

He also refuses to make any tactical changes. No matter what the score is, it's the same dump and chase bull**** and collapsing in front of the net and letting the other team just have the puck for long stretches of time. He needed to be fired after the loss in the bubble to Montreal, but here we are.

I agree. He has no ability to adjust. I wanted him and JR gone last year. JR is gone but frankly not before he ruined the year with his 3rd line "choices."
We have got to hope that Sully being fired is the 1st move made before anything else.
