Teams may want more just to take on Hutton.

NSH getting ripped off.

Easy pass from Nashville

Johansen > Skinner

For as lackluster Johansen has been this season, he's still out produced Skinner. Johansen is a center which is a more desirable position. Skinner has a NMC which requires protecting in the expansion draft whereas we can expose Johansen if wanted. Johansen has 4 seasons after this one and Johansen will be 32. Skinner has 6 seasons and Skinner will be 34.

Jarnkrok >= Mittelstadt

Jarnkrok is better if you go by how they are in the NHL now. Mittelstadt gains ground if you believe he can still develop into a NHL caliber forward.

Skinner would have to waive his NMC, so that wont factor in. Johansen wouldnt be a center in Buffalo so their is no bonus points there. Both have similar numbers, Skinner has better advanced stats, Johansen has barely more points. Both could use a change of scenery, both have similar contracts

But Skinner has two more years on his contract and is being paid a million dollars more so Nashville says no

Not that much of a gamble when the current option is more of the same

Johansen does bring defensive aspect to his game and can play in all sorts of Scenarios. Skinner can’t if he isnt scoring goals he’s worthless so Nashville passes. I’d rather keep johansen than this

Skinner is not that far off in the defensive stats as you want to believe

Skinner 20-21: 0G 1A 1P in 12 Games - full season pace of 0G 7A 7P
Johansen 20-21: 0G 4A 4P in 10 Games - full season pace of 0G 33A 33P

Skinner 19-20: 14G 9A 23P in 59 Games - full season pace of 19G 13A 32P
Johansen 19-20: 14G 22A 36P in 68 Games - full season pace of 17G 26A 43P

Johansen makes less, has a shorter contract, has no trade protection, and has outproduced Skinner this year and last. In Nashville, he's a 2C and the next best C is Jarnkrok... which is a terrible option.

If were going to project these we should compare Skinners line mates (both seasons really) to Johansen's

NMC would be waived if he gets trade and production is the same, contracts are similar too, 2 years and 1 mill is not a huge difference

canucks decline.Montour is declining and not even close to the dman he was a few years ago.Canucks need another top 4 man.to take pressure off Hughes.Jake PLUS PLUS for a top D man is more realistic in my opinion.

2 extra years of 9M dead capspace and 20M in real cash means alot to owners.

We're stuck with this Skinner contract if we only try to trade it in Florida for Bob.

Based on what his goals and assists? His defense stats at worst have been the same

VAN doesn't need Montour. If they move Virtanen it would be for a forward.
