Yes, no reason for Isles to do this.

Jimmy Vesey is a 3rd or 4th liner not a 1st liner. This is coming from a Leafs fan who has seen him play recently.

Do the Pens get Ho Sang for the sole purpose of having him change his number?

I know he isn’t very good, but I think he would play well with Sid. I would at least give him a shot before banishing him to the bottom 6

Agreed, Savoie is looking like he may be a really good player in the NHL. Just if the oilers could persuade the other teams into letting his brother Matthew Savoie drop late, so we could have him as well.

James Neal: 0.33 P/GP
Jason Zucker: 0.36 P/GP

Yup, the Oilers aren't adding a bunch of A-level assets to this deal.

Zucker currently isn't producing because of Geno, last year he had a 0.68 P/GP in contrast to neal's 0.56 P/GP which is inflated because alot of neal's points were in the 1st half of the season when he was playing with McDavid and he is not good enough to do that anymore.

Give him opportunity he is a top line center no doubt. Matthews and the stoneman are screwing with his development

Leafs can not take on cap and Liljegren more for cap issues and bad defense than another scoring forward.
Oilers are hoping to rid Neal's contract not take on another bloated and longer deal.
Panthers are playing great, why would they make a deal that could upset team chemistry and please face it, Malkin has been bad this year.

Good chance edmonton can just pay seattle a first and a young D to take Neal. There really won't be anybody of value once they protect 7-3

Neal spent less than 1/3 of his 5v5 TOI with McDavid last year.

I'm not saying they're equal players, but the Oilers aren't adding THREE (count 'em) A-level assets to get the deal done. The difference between Neal and Zucker is minimal.

The first is to trade away Neal, it’s really just zucker for konovalov and savoie

Does this prove Zucker is only good cause of Malkin/Crosby? Lol

Which is a really, really bad deal for the Oilers. Neal is nearly as good as Zucker and their contracts are similar, if Neal requires a 1st to dump then how on earth do you think Zucker gets TWO A-level prospects? It defies logic.

No, he was good on Minnesota with almost no supporting cast, it’s that Malkin is a negative influence on him play wise.

Zucker is WAY better than Neal, Neal has regressed whereas zucker is still a great top 6 option.
