What will happen to Ovi this year

Description
A. He signs an extension with the Caps and either tries to surpass Gretzky in career goals, tries to win another cup with Washington or at least prevent the Caps from missing the playoffs.


What might an extension look like?


B. He goes home to Russia and plays in the KHL.


C. He retires as the greatest Washington Capital ever and is inducted into the Hall of Fame on the first ballot with the next wave of inductees.


D. He is traded before the deadline if the Caps tank.

He won't go anywhere, but if he does it won't be a big deal. He could ring chase on a nice one or two year deal and still be considered the greatest Capital ever, and go to the HOF as a Capital (I know that's not a thing in hockey but you know what I mean).

EDIT: Just FYI this is me hoping maybe Ovi would come to NYI on a solid one or two year deal to win another Cup with Trotz. But I know the chances of that happening are slim at best.

This is my pipe dream that I always pray happens since they have been quoted saying how much they loved working with each other.. I just don’t see him walking from Washington tho

IMO he finishes his career as a capital and breaks Gretzky's record, he will keep going until he gets it done. The guys in incredible shape and rarely misses time with injuries, his shot will probably be the last thing to go, I see him playing into his early 40s and still being as productive as Jagr was, once he breaks the record I think he retires from the NHL and goes back to KHL to play a season or two there for fun and give his home town a show.
