AS an avs fan i'd take that trade

The Avs trade doesn't have a single piece that Pittsburgh could use as a big building block in return for Crosby.

Bellemare, Pierre-Édouard - Aging 4C pending UFA, little to no value to a rebuilding team.
Burakovsky, André - Probably the best piece in the trade, but nonetheless on an expiring contract in 1 year, so value to Pittsburgh is what he could fetch in return at next years deadline.
Compher, J.T. - Warm body/contract
Foudy, Jean-Luc [Reserve List] - decent prospect but not bluechip.
Kamenev, Vladislav [Reserve List] - not even playing in the NHL and doesn't look likely to turn into anything special.
2021 1st round pick (COL) - late 1st
2022 1st round pick (COL) - late 1st
2021 3rd round pick (COL) - not a big piece.

It's very much a quantity for quality trade.

If Avs trade for Crosby then it would 100% require Newhook going the other way in a bigger package. Avs wouldn't need Newhook as the future 2C anymore with Crosby playing 2C so it would be the logical piece from the Avs perspective as well.

The Avs take that and run but Pittsburgh gets robbed really. Like Richard88 says that's quantity over quality.

It doesn't include Byram if it's the Avs and if it did happen would certainly only include one of them and if Crosby is coming to COL then the Avs wouldn't have as much need for Newhook so he's the logical main prospect to go back to PIT.
