Preds dont touch that deal. No idea if Klefbomw ill be healthy again and if there is a chance why in the world are the Oilers trading him.
Its a weird deal that Preds take all the risk for a draft pick in 2022...plus Preds cant protect Klefbom in the expansion draft if he is healthy....there is no benefit for the Preds besides a 1st round pick

also good luck trying to get Grubauer, chances are he is not going to market and if he was, no way he signs in Edmonton

Klefbom is exempt I think. The reason they trade klefbom is you can't play 2 guys at 2LD. You realize ekholm has 1 year on his contract after this year not 2 or 3 right?

hes exempt bc hes injured and chances are wont be playing next year. So why are they Preds trading a guy they cant use or play. And if he healthy there is no reason for the oilers to trade him. A huge health question mark in Klefbom as the centre piece of trade for Ekholm doesnt do anything for the Preds but just is a gift to the Oilers

Yes Klefbomb is exempt. He did not meet the last 2 year requirement of I think it was 72 games

thats not official yet, its unknown if he actually is exempt yet or not. as of Feb 3rd 2021 Jason Gregor said that Klefboms status is still TBD if hes exempt or not

no. Francouz is hurt and he hasn't played a game this season, Grubauer is one of the leagues best starters this year....Frankie was never their starter

As long as Avs give him a fair offer, I dont see him leaving, his life style fits Colorado as hes always wake boarding, horseback riding, hiking etc...youre not getting that in Edmonton. I dont think the German players in Edmonton is a thing he cares about

Trading Bear is a big mistake, the kind several teams made in the Vegas draft. Fortunately Holland wasn't one of them. 23-year-old 1st pairing RHD don't grow on trees, you know.

Well Holland said he is out for the year. So you can either listen to the media guy or Holland. Up to you

The Ekholm thing aside, why on earth would the Oilers trade Bear and a 2nd to get rid of Neal? Just buy him out and save the 3.8 M

Or listen to the NHL bc Gregor reported that the NHL has ruled his status as TBD. Pro Tip...GMs are full of horse crap when they talk to the media as well, they dont give the full picture and all the info either to protect theirs and the teams interests

He is out of the year but its complicated bc that exempt clause is for career ending injuries, and bc of the pandemic Klefbom hasn't been able to get back to Cleveland for his follow up determination.

Its not as simple as counting the games for a player elected surgery

Not sure how you know him so well. Either way 6 x 6 is way to much. I mean Colorado could offer that but any team would be making a mistake if they did. He's been great this year and has always had solid numbers but you have to take into consideration the flat cap and his age. Teams with there playoff window coming to a close might be wise to sign him to get some solid goaltending in their last few years of legit contention but other then that, that contract would weigh a team down and potentially hurt their playoff hopes in the last half of that contract

If you trade bear to accomplish something big then it's not a waste. My vibe is that he's too small to play where they want him to play. Their biggest issue on defence is contesting guys in front of the net. Guys like Adam Lowry and scheifle slice though defenders like Bear and that's how they've been losing games. If they sign Barrie then in my opinion Bear is redundant. You are not taking Bouchard out and by the 2022-23 season he will be able to play second pair, you also need somebody like Adam larsson in a shutdown role so I don't see where bear fits going forward.

the 1.9 million plus the other 2.25 million they have on buyouts is too much dead cap.

you pay attention to the player and the coverage of the player you get the sense of them, its not rocket science, plus when they have quotes talking about how he loves living In Denver bc of all he stuff that he can do there, like I said its not rocket science to see.

I do like Bear a lot and I think he can and should be a big part of the team moving forward. Im hesitant to say he is a 1st pair D though. Even though he has often played on the 1st pair, doesnt mean he is at that calibre yet. I think he could get there in a few years, but I think right now he is a solid low end #3 Dman. Good puck mover and pretty decent defensively. I think long term he slots in on the Oilers 2nd pair.

FYI Parkland county has the most horses and riding arenas per capita in the entire world and that's a fact.

It's not too much if he saves the puck. Vasilevski and price make too much. Koskinen can be resigned for 2.75 Million or less on a 2 year deal in a year so it makes it more doable.

Stony Plains and Spruce Grove arent really highlights to sell UFAs on. I live in Alberta I am very much aware of what actually is around Edmonton and surrounding area before you get to the mountains

I wouldnt view the 1.9 as dead cap until the Neal contract is supposed to end, they'd be saving 3.8. Pouliot buyout off the books this year and at the end of 22/23, the Sekera buyout is off the books. The only buyout would be the 1.9 for 2 years afterward. I think the 3.8 for the next 2 years is a tool they should use.

I have no issue keeping bear if they don't sign Barrie. I do have concerns about how he's not as good as last year and already has concussion issues though.
