He's untouchable... regardless of his lack of production.... Take a look at how Stamkos started out and how stupid TB would have been to trade him

Exactly!!!

The funniest part of this is that you added a 3rd coming to Edmonton. As if you thought you were giving too much lmao

Don't forget that Lafreniere didn't had a proper training camp, didn't play between march 2020 until january 2021 (almost a full year). Even if he was 1st overall there's a enormous step between qmjhl and nhl and this year with the events mentionned it's a even harder to make the transition.

If he's a bust, why would you want to trade for him?

McJesus should make this miracle happen instead of "making a miracle" out of a 1OA

They should have picked Stutzle

31/31 Gms and every fan of every team would have picked LAF... You are supposed to take the better pick at the time every time. Should have drafted Point, Lundqvist, Zetterberg(we could go on) in the first round or even top 5 but development is also a thing...

Yamamoto, Bouchard, 2022 1st

Teams would trade a first overall for Bouchard alone right now.

What does that have to do with Lafreniere? Lafreniere's top forward linemates:

Strome: 70:09
Zibanejad: 58:31
Howden: 50:49
Buchnevich: 50:13
Kakko: 48:51
Kreider: 36:22
Panarin: 33:37

Please tell me which 2 of these guys are 4th line quality.

Where does Lafreniere earn his money? In close to the net, What is the one thing teams want just about all of their prospects to do? Bulk up, add muscle and get stronger. Is it really that hard to figure out why Lafreniere is struggling? He will be fine and he will live up to his draft position.

One thing I do find very hypocritical there were a good portion of Oilers Fans that would all worked up and pissed off if you even brought up the idea of JP being a bust.

Howden is 100%. All the others are having bad years except for Bread.... No one is saying he has only played with 4th liners. Use a bit of common sense, he isn't getting 1PP time either and NYR are just all around bad.. If you truly think he is a bust then you can wait a few seasons to realize how wrong you are

Where did I call him a bust? You were asking about Stamkos' first season, I'm giving you the information.
