What if we don't want either Rathbone or Juolevi? Or DiPietro for that matter.

Not 100% sure, it didn't seem like a concern when I was discussing the deal. Maybe their comfortable with leaving Pageau or Eberle exposed.

The wild don't want either. so no thanks from Minnesota wild. wikd already have Goalie tandems if Cam Talbot, & Kaapo kahkonen.

Wild aren't trading Dumba for D prospect. The ask for Dumba is a Top 6C, or top 6RW

Hard pass on the dumba trade, Canucks don't need a overpaid defensemen that is a defensive liability ontop of a locker room cancer

Who are you talking about? Dumba is neither of those things.

I've heard defensive liability, which really isn't true anymore, not saying he is a shutdown guy but far from liability. Locker room cancer only if you have a team full of Tony D's. Dumba is a great person by many accounts and well liked. Stop making crap up.

Why do you keep bringing back Tryamkin for so much money? if he comes back, its not for this much.... i don't get why the 1.25m figure is so frequent for him.

Canucks reportedly want a young forward back for Virtanen. I keep using Fischer as my piece of choice.... I don't mind mayfield, but I think he's just a version of stecher who is helped by the Islanders defensive system. I doubt he would be that good here.

1.25M in Vancouver is at least comparable to what Tryamkin is making in the KHL currently, probably a bit less even. If management wants to bring him over to see what they have it will be a lot tougher to do so if he has to take a considerable pay cut to come back to a place that he's already left once. The last report I saw stated that management was still enamored by Tryamkin's physical tools and want to see what a more mature version of him can do. If that combined with Tryamkin's reported desire to return to the NHL is true, then this is pretty much a middle ground deal for one year so he can prove himself. If he looks bad, no harm it was only one year. If he looks good then he earns another contract at a higher dollar amount and climbs the ladder.

Personally, I'd be happy to have him back at a contract similar to this, but only for one year. He hasn't earned anything more than a "show me" deal.

I don't think we need Mayfield to be anything special, in this scenario we would just need him to be the support to Hughes. Benn is doing a good job this year and Mayfield should be a right-handed upgrade on him. I like him as a target because I've negotiated three separate deals for him that Islander fans have agreed to, so it seems like they would have a reasonable chance of going through in reality.
