IMO it is because with the Leafs finally having a dependable 6 D, Rielly’s poor defence is really starting to show. He acts like a 4th forward out there. Makes terrible pinches when no one is there is cover him. How many times has Brodie have to defend odd man rushes this year. A LOT. There’s a reason Rielly’s ice time has been down this year, he is not trusted to be on the ice in the final minutes of a game. If he’s not producing offence he is a liability out there. With the depth and prospects coming up on LD if they can find a trade partner in the offseason, great! If not let him walk cause I really freakin hope they don’t commit a 7-8 mil to him.
