bellows

Description
I'm surprised Trotz put bellows in for dal colle tonight. The 2nd line has been arguably our best line over the last few weeks and the ice is tilted in the isles favor when Dal Colle is on the ice. This lineup gives them the best chance to win IMO.

yeah he won't play another game this season - probably gets taken by Seattle. I don't think it was fair to call him out like that but trotz wasn't wrong. But like. said I don't understand why bellows came in for Dal Colle in the first place.

On the bright side, wahlstrom gets better every game and trotz seems to like him.

Nelson been pretty garbage all year, the turnover tonight was ridiculous. Are we making excuses for him?

That was a soft play by nelson - Nelson has been underwhelming this season but hes been better with MDC on his line. High danger chances were 10-1 with MDC in the lineup over the last few games. How do you take him out of the lineup?

I like bellows, he works hard and he has great instincts in the ozone - but like Scott Wheeler (scout from the athletic) said, his production will depend on who he plays with at even strength, he needs a playmaker on his line, that's either barzal or Bailey and Trotz hasn't given him the opportunity to play with them.

Really was a disappointing turn of events tonight. He didn't have great game, but Bellows didn't deserve this imo and forth what it's worth, this is the first game I haven't liked what I've seen from him.

I don't think Barry set him up to fail, but the way they've handled him this year has really disappointed me. This is a guy who has shown legit flashes of being a really solid middle-6 scoring winger and they've just kicked him to the curb when the going has gotten a little tough.

Hope we can get something for him in a trade still, because it's looking like that's the path we're going down

Spot on. I thought it was a good opportunity to play eberle, but it is one game and he hasn’t played in a while. It sucks that we handle prospects like this.

In your opinion what do you think it it that makes trotz all of a sudden love wahlstrom. It feels like yesterday he was criticizing wahlstrom to the media.

Im really sad bc im a big bellows guy and i thought finally hes gonna get his chance and hes played well and now goodbye bellows. Barry has to either completely change his attitude or leave forthwith. As for leo he is the most dangerous player to the isles rn bc of barrys refusal to see any bad in him and not play him for the same things that get young guys benched. Not really leos fault but reality nonetheless. At this point i just hope that aho salo wilde bolduc koivula and holmstrom will be developed properly, bc i feel its too late for bellows given the organizations attitude towards him. In terms of going forward with bellows i hope they trade him now so he doesnt become ho sang 2.0. I would really like him to do a devon toews and play great after a trade to rub it in. Ever since LL and trotz took over i have completely supported them. But i have now completely revised my opinion on them. With the repeated overpaying both in term and aav of 4th liners/healthy scratches to the refusal to play prospects to the completely nonobjective evaluation of players, its time for a change. (Not even going to start with ho sang lmfao). I like many others didnt give this roster enough credit instead giving it to management but ive had enough. Its time for the trotz era to end along with brief reign of lou lamoriello. Thank you for indulging in my frustration.

I would love for bellows to put up 25 G for another team. I agree with everything you said, Trotz can’t get out of his own way.

The players and Mitch korn have more to do with the isles success than trotz and Lou

I think the simplest answer is that he’s seeing what we’re all seeing and is appreciating Wahlstrom’s play. I’m really loving that he’s already a really capable defensive player, makes me excited for the player he’s going to be when he does unlock his offensive potential. Maybe Barry feels the same way.

And then there’s the cynical side of me that says he’s pumping his tires in preparation for a trade. I kinda doubt this, but you never know....

Yeah you can tell wahlstrom has adapted to play in trotz system. He has the puck skills and deceptive skating to be a top 6 player in this league. Hopefully his offensive is unleashed sooner than later.

Wahlstrom was Lou’s first draft pick and we all know Lou has a huge ego and will want wahlstrom to pan out for the isles unless he’s blown away by a trade. Bellows on the other hand...

Yeah I feel like every day im seeing a new quote on Trotz about wahlstrom. Wahlstrom is getting a lot of good scoring opportunities , he has a 5% S percentage. Regression to the mean should happen soon, especially if trotz continues to give him more ice time like he's been doing.
