There's a pretty big catch here. Its a 3rd overall in a weak draft- which makes me think of jp Dumont or galchenyuk, and then you have top 5 protection in a stacked draft and top 10 protection in another supposedly stacked draft. This is an expansion team. Those picks could very likely be kicked several years down the road. So there's a real chance that we could be moving eichel just to get Skinner off the books- at least for several years. There's no way I would do that, and I can't see a gm ever risking that much.

its also 19m$ in cap space to "help" other teams clear some cap space in return for some picks/ prospects. but i haven't been impressed with Eichel as captain and i don't want teams current effort levels or attitude to sink into next gen of players.

VAN decline, they are happy with Juolevi and he is starting to look like a legit top 4 dman.

wallstedt looks to be stud. i agree that upl and portillo have potential but so did Ullmark, Petersen and Johansson.
I would rather the team be in an era like when we had biron and miller in net then just 1 clear starter.
also might be weaker draft so take the guys who stand out the most

was just to get some value back for montour was under impression juolevi wasn't top 4 guy atm.
any value back for younger guy with promise is what i was thinking.

The Kings would rather have Vilardi than Reinhart due to his age and contract status. They're not interested in trading Quick, and certainly aren't going to pay a 2nd to dump him. Pilut is essentially a bust at this point, which is really too bad, because he looked like he had some real potential a few seasons ago. If the Kings really want him, they can sign him when he becomes a UFA in a couple years.
