Lindholm Rakell

Created by: Leafsfaninvancity
Team: 2020-21 Toronto Maple Leafs
Initial Creation Date: Feb. 18, 2021
Published: Feb. 18, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Toronto takes on LTIR Kesler and gets back a top 6 forward and top 4 dman for Nylander and a late 1st rounder, plus a prospect. Aside from Gibson, I think Anaheim is really open to trading anyone as they should be rebuilding. Leafs are getting a great two way forward in Rakell 3 years the senior of Nylander, and a offensive dman in Lindholm whose an upgrade over Dermott. If Robertson is not ready, Mikheyev moves up and Boyd is on the fourth line.

This makes the team worse offensively and makes it so we lose Lindholm or Rackell anyways to Seattle. Just a shortsighted bad idea.

He was too casual when scoring, made it look easy so he obviously didn't try. Let's trade him and a first for 2 guys we will need to expose in the expansion draft and lose Lindholm for nothing or spend more assets to keep him when we don't need him.

Really smart plan here

Two years of Rakell and Lindholm for four years of Nylander and first. and third might be fair though Ducks should get more. Another totally silly inclusion of Kesler in a trade which doesn't help/hurt either team.

Im not a Nylander hater, but its about the return you can get for him. A top 6 forward and top 4 dman is worth it to me.

Leafs protect 7 forwards, 3 dmen, 1 goalie: Matthews, Marner, Rakell, Tavares, Hyman, Mikeyev, Kerfoot. first/second year players exempt (Robertson). D: Rielly, Lindholm, Muzzin protected (Holl, Brodie, Dermott not). Leafs should be fine without one of those guys, even if its Brodie leaving. Goalie: Campbell. I know you really love Dermott and Holl, but one is gone next year anyways, by salary shedding or expansion, and if the Leafs win the cup, it will be worth it. I think Rakell and Lindholm is an upgrade over Nylander (who I love) and Dermott. TO was 8-3-4 last year against Canadian division, would you say their dcore was good then as well? 24th in GAA last year, so Brodie and Bogosian turned that d core around? One thing to be biased and another to be in denial.

During the times of covid where teams are strapped for cash, I don't think Anaheim would mind moving salary on a player that will never play for them again.

Brodie has to he protected. You are just making **** up for a guy who talks like he knows everything.

How much actual dollars do the Ducks pay for Kesler on LTIR?

Just to add to your protection list....Mikheyev is exempt, and Hyman can be exempt as a UFA So the Leafs could go Matthews, Marner, Rakell, Tavares, Reilly, Muzzin, Lindholm, Brodie. protected.

And lose Holl for nothing. It's still a stupid trade. You lose more term for Nylander for two players we don't need.
