I might be in the 1% here, but I feel like it wouldn't be worth selling the farm for Eichel. He's good and all but I think Ottawa would be better off with those pieces instead of Eichel.

They probably want one of Stutzle or Tkachuk to be the starting piece for you guys to get Eichel.

They can want all they like but if Eichel is getting traded its going to be a lot more quantity than quality.

All I’m saying is that if one of Tkachuk or Stutzle isn’t included in the trade as the starting piece then it wouldn’t be worth it for them.

Eichel isn’t going to be traded to a divisional rival. He’s probably going out west I don’t think the Sabres would want to play him 3/4 times a year.

And continue sucking balls for the next two decades, I'm fine with that.

First my guess is they learned from the ROR trade...2nd there is no bonus due next year so no rush like with ROR and third no matter how much he stamps his feet to get traded they don't have to trade him. Sabres have all the control until the 22-23 season when his NMC kicks in, then the teams available to trade with get limited. I think he gets the Sabres at least 3 solid pieces. If I'm the Sabres I look at LA or ANA as their prospect pools are strong.

Eichel is a sick player, but I can't see how this really makes the Sens a better team long term. Sens will get more value by committee with those pieces than from Eichel alone.

Funny stuff. You are aware that there's 29 other NHL teams, right?

In the ballpark imo
But you’ve gotta consider what other teams will offer
Just for example:
If the Kings were to offer Byfield +, then your offer likely gets beat

And a 2022 1st (unprotected) would have to be included imo

I’d just like to point out that this is significantly more than the senators got in return for Karlsson and even in that situation the Sharks weren’t willing to part with Meier or Hertl. You can hope that another team steps up and gives top tier assets but two 1sts, two 2nds, 3 young A list players already in the NHL who are worth 1sts and a guy who probably needs a change of scenery is nothing to scoff at.

Edit: The return that Ottawa got for Mark Stone (Brannstrom & a 2nd) is included in this offer and isn’t even the focal piece. All that to say, if Buffalo does trade Eichel they will be losing the best player in the deal and I’m curious to know what a reasonable trade would be in your eyes.

First of all, I was solely commenting on this assertion: "They can want all they like but if Eichel is getting traded its going to be a lot more quantity than quality." You said this as if they were locked into taking what a particular team wanted to offer, which is silly. Their want, combined with the fact that numerous teams would enter the fray, is precisely what would set the price.

As for Karlsson, he was 28 and about to run out of contract, not 24 and signed for 5+ seasons. Also, those are not "A players". They're mostly A-ish prospects, which is a very different thing. And if Ottawa wants to try for Eichel, they're almost certainly gonna need to begin with Tkachuk or Stutzle.

If they get Eichel they’re gonna start winning games anyways
I’d rather have an u protected 2022 pick
It’s a MUCH better draft
