Nobody thought TB would give up a 1st for Goodrow either. Stranger things have happened, especially when theirs would be a late 1st in a meh draft year versus a 2nd in a much better draft year. Plus Gambrell is a native son of Colorado.

so just move a 3rd for him. no need to get the 1st involved.

Sakic never traded a 1st round pick, and Gambrell certainly won't be the reason he decides to finally move a 1st.

Gambrell isn’t nearly the player Goodrow is and TBL was being very specific in their targeting. The Avs have players in the Gambrell mold already in Jost and Bowers why would they want a 3rd and give up a 1st in the process that’s an easy easy no. BUF declines as well, Meier isn’t cheap, Merkley is a special needs prospect that I think would not be a good fit in BUF, the 2 1st are solid start unfortunately Sharks don’t have a whole lot more to offer to a team who would be going full rebuild if they were trading Eichel.

For SJ I'm not worried about extending Timo. If there is one person that can get a long term deal done (for better or worse) it is dw ahaha

Just curious who you think Gambrell is upgrading enough to warrant a 1st being involved?

3rd for Gambrell straight up maybe, he's not enough to warrant a 1st. Maaayyybeee, just maybe, they'd do it if it was this year's second as they don't have their own and you're just moving down a bit in the same draft, but I don't see a legit reason to there.

P.S. He was DU Pioneer but isn't a COL native.
