I think that Buffalo picking him up on waivers makes a lot of sense. Doesn't cost the Sabres anything, and frees up Eakin for a little trade return.

Biggest thing is the cap hit. The retention on him and moving Eakin out make that happen in a trade. Plus we all know the Sabres need a LHD... especially if McCabe and Risto are both out long term now :/

Also possible. I was just saying I don't think deciphering between the two 3rds when the Sabres are only 3 points back with 2 games in hand is something they'd do.
