Not blow up but pull a good player with room to grow and a high end prospect. Again it’ll be tough to beat this which is why now would be a great time for Ottawa to pull the trigger. That guy make Ottawa scary. Fill out the roster a bit and watch out

Yup, maybe an upgrade on the third line. But Eichel would be huge

This draft reminds me of 2017. It also sucks cuz a lot of prospects haven’t played yet

I have bad memories of this draft for Buffalo. grimace

Does that beat your offer. That one is interesting is if you think kk will develop more and be a good 2c than yes. An interesting team to watch would be the rangers. Kakko or lafrenière

I’m a big fan of Norris , I think he’s on the same projection as Nick Suzuki although 1 year earlier. Brannstrom has looked pretty good and a guy like Guenther or Johnson have top line potential.

Nick Suzuki lol

I think Kotkaniemi + Guhle + late 1st does not beat Norris + Brannstrom + top 5 pick. Maybe with Suzuki it makes it a bit more towards Montreal but it’s close.

If I’m Buffalo I’d be hesitant to take Kakko as the main piece. If I’m the Rangers , I’m not offering Laf

Really, no lafrenière? Eichel is a centre and a very good player. It’s tough for sure. I see the problems with kakko But he’s got so much talent.

Off the top of my head, some form of kk, caufield a first and maybe guhle if you need. Don’t know if mtl does it but that’s tough to turn down

From Montreal we have to ask Suzuki + one from Caufield/Romanov as a base. I would not to see Kotkaniemi as the main part for Jac, and I am a big Suzuki fan.

Then that’s a no. I’ll go easy and say Suzuki is a 2-way 70 point centre. Than Romanov looks really good or caufield. No thanks, depth is key.

I understand the hesitancy with kk which is why you get caufield plus.

I think Montreal should stand pat. Romanov and Guhle on the left side would be real good. And Caufield on this team would be nuts

Fair, but he is our best player and we have to ask for a lot.

I’d trade down to 3 and take Guenther.

How do you project Norris, and who does he look like in terms of playstyle from the current top 6 centers in the league? I think he's probably a solid prospect, but too few samples so far.

Somewhere around Logan Couture and Brayden Schenn I'd say. There's no ideal comparison for him but I think he can be that caliber of player, or at least close. If he is well surrounded as he should be, then no reason for him to not make it work.

Tkachuk and Norris are best friends, they'd need a playmaking winger even if they can set up plays that's not their main quality. Batherson seems like their ideal linemate. Those 3 shown early that they could possibly be a hell of a possession line.

Difference is Montreal's 1st should be in the twenties, there's a gigantic difference in value with a Top-4 pick.

Norris vs KK (Norris only 1 year older btw)
Brannstrom vs Guhle
Top-4 pick vs Caufield + late 1st

That depends on how Buffalo sees it, personally I take Norris here and well, the lottery pick as well. I'd be hesitant about Guhle's size vs Brannstrom but that's my only hesitation. Brannstrom earned a high pedigree at a young age. You can already see he will be a solid 2nd pairing D-man at least. Buffalo could be big Caufield believers though so it's really hard to say but if I'm them I prefer the Sens package because of that 1st round pick (unless I have no trust in my scouting department?)

lol that's kinda ironic since we always get pushed down by the lottery. Now that we finally have the 1st OA, we trade down.

And there's no "concensus" at the top so far and the draft might happen in a while so things will change a lot.
