My guess is both fanbases hate it, which would make it fair
In my unbiased opinion is that it’s quite fair. Min gets a legit 1C and Buffalo can very much rebuild around that package.

That's not how that works.

I think that's about the most MN would do.

No reason for BUF to make that trade though.

BUF declines, but it's not like Wild should do it. They should build through prospects.

Why would Buffalo decline? You get a 1C prospect and a top player and a 1st

Underpay, Kaprizov and Foligno would make it right. Also Boldy > 1st rounder

I think they'd prefer the "top player" is a center, and maybe the prospect can be a winger if need be.

Like the Flames could offer Monahan, Pelletier, 1st or something like that.

You want Kaprizov, Fiala, Rossi, Boldy and Foligno?

Can I have some of your drugs?

Underpay, but wouldn’t expect BUF to get 100 pennies on the dollar, so maybe add a contract and the other 1st.

Because Eichel is a top10 center in the league.

All pieces offered here are great, but I don't see neither making it that far.

I dont want Fiala, Minnesotas pick has the chance to be top 5, I would rather have Boldy, so Minny keeps their top 5 pick (top 10 at best)

Buffalo should do this deal why? A 26 year old Monahan that’s going to make them worse short term and be a free agent at 28-29? Is that a good direction to go in for Buffalo? Def not

I have no idea. None of this is good for Buffalo because they're not going to get anything nearly as good as Eichel back. Monahan is at least a relatively young top 6 center, and I think Buffalo would be looking for some kind of top 6 center to replace Eichel.

Frankly, as much as I would love to have Eichel, it doesn't make sense for the Wild to trade for him at the expense of any of Rossi, Fiala or Kaprizov. Were we to give those pieces up, let alone multiple, we'd be in the same situation Buffalo is. We'd have very little support for Eichel, and with an aging defense, it would only be a matter of time before he's sick of Minnesota as well.

Beyond recognizing that Eichel to Minnesota doesn't make sense, I don't really care where he goes. All I know is Buffalo is not going to "win" this trade. Teams giving up the best player because he's disgruntled and wants out always lose value. So Buffalo fans asking for a piece like Kaprizov+++ is ridiculous and hilarious to me.

MN will be in the Playoffs easily with Eichel. They'll be 4th-6th in the West without him. The West is really bad after the top-3 teams. So I don't see a top-5 pick happening.

9th-15th I could see if MN finishes 5th in the West. In no order OTT, VAN, NSH, DET, ANA, BUF, NYR, SJS all finish with worse records. LA, AZ, CBJ, CHI, CGY, and MN fall into the next group of lottery teams (one for the West makes the Playoffs).

Would Kaprizov sign with BUF (without Eichel) or bolt back to the KHL?

He will never get that kind of money in the KHL, of course he will sign, but this is usually discussed when trading.

Yeap, but I would prefer this base, not Rossi + Fiala. Come on dude, i am Russian. smile
