Because the Kings will resign him and protect him, pretty sure I covered that already. Blake won't wait till free agency to resign him, that's not his style.

They don't need to wait until free agency to re-sign him if they leave him exposed to Seattle.

He's an absolutely horrid forechecker (worst on the Kings last year), which is the main thing I'm looking for. I want a guy who wins pucks effectively and often, and either retains possession by getting the puck back up high or makes high danger passes after winning the puck. He does none of this to a high degree.

I have nothing against him as a player, understand, he's extremely talented, just not what I'm looking for.

Given the fact that I've been watching him for almost 5 years every game, you lost me in the 1st sentence.

If he signs a discount, it would be more of an incentive to take him over other plays. This really doesn't even matter, you're just nitpicking.

Alright, well it is what it is, so there's not much I can do about that. Maybe he's been more effective at that in the past, but he was awful in that regard last year.

Why would they sign him before the expansion draft? That's not in any way what I'm suggesting. There is still time between the ED and free agency (about a week) where they can re-sign Iafallo is all I was trying to get across. It's not nitpicking, I was trying to helpfully explain something.
