I do think part of Virtanen's failure has been due to green.... but despite the win / loss difference, the team is playing solid right now.... best course of action is to move on from Virtanen first, not green.... can reconsider green later

Green is going to be looking for a new job soon.......he is way over his head coaching an NHL team.......he is just lucky the Canucks found Petterson and Hughes.

He's an NHL level coach.... His roster just needs to wake up. I don't know why everyone is getting so far ahead of themselves.

He has not proved anything to me as a coach......he is showing his incompetence how he is giving up on Virtanen.......Green needs to go before he damages some more players with his inflated ego.

My gueess is that Benning had a little talk with Green as Canucks changed their lines and moved Virtanen back to second line where he deserves.......Hoglander is over-rated and should really be on the third line where he belongs....yes he is a spark plug but noway he should be on the first or second line.......he came into camp ahead of other players only because he had already been playing in the Swedish professional league....he is already starting to fade since beginning of year.

I don't think you know what you are talking about.

Virtanen started the season in the top six and he looked greatly out of place. Virtanen's issue is drive and work ethic. he's a step slow and has never put 100% effort forward. I do think the coaching has damaged his confidence, but why are we to take it out on green for having a bad relationship with only one player? Most teams have a player who is sour on a coach but that doesn't end up affecting their play. He's been given a role in the top 6 every few games and fails to make anything happen - even tonight he's been mediocre and almost a detriment. Virtanen is somebody who should be moved, and will do doubt do really well upon a move.

Green is usually a bit slow to adapt to change, but he is willing to make changes. He's far from the worst coach in the league - at this rate its ideal to live out this contract (expiring this year) and see where we're at in the offseason.

Yes......I agree that the Canucks will let his contract run out......would not be surprised to see Benning replaced and new coach brought in for next year.
