This is standard character assassination and political intimidation. Panarin spoke out in favor of the opposition of Russia, so the government is showing him how easily they can screw with this life.

They just get on a plane or car and leave. it takes 1 day, not even.
It's not something you stop playing hockey for as it's not like it's something he can do anything about other than get them a plane ticket or tell someone else to get them out. He sure as hell ain't going over there to get them.

there is a difference in being worried and being able to do anything about it. He's not going there. He can do all of jack from NY other than pay someone to try to get them out.
On top of it nothing has been reported on his family, it's all about him.
The worst thing you can do when accused of something like this is to stop playing. It's just a bad look.
If he came out and said, he's crazy he's just mad about my comments and kept playing hockey, no one would even blink.
