it legit doesnt work, Avs cant take on 10m in Eichel and resign Makar Landy and Grubi. Once they do 7.5m for Landy, Makar 8.5m and Grubi 5m...they have a 19 player roster and only 300k of cap space left, and that include Graves being selected by Vegas

Its the easiest no int he world on this trade, I dont know why other fan bases think Avs can just take on 8.7m in Crosby 9.5m in Malkin or 10m in Eichel like its no problem with these type of trades

The value might be close to correct but the Avs would never do this sort of deal. Don't get me wrong, Eichel is a really good player but the price is too high in terms of cap hit and the players they would lose plus no 1sts for several years. The Avs don't need someone like Eichel, they need a 3C, someone to take Compher or Donny and some goaltending depth if Frankie can't get healthy.

I agree, they dont need more offense.. their offense is fine as is.. and yes it would ruin their cap structure which is the other issue, but other fan bases dont take into account how much space you need to keep the players you have and how valuable a newhook and byram ELC will be

If the trade doesn’t hurt the team acquiring Eichel you know it’s not enough. This offer might get it done, but Colorado wouldn’t tear apart their roster to do it.

Just because I said it was the best one doesn’t mean the Avs should do it. I am speaking strictly off of value- relax.

It’s just stupid, love all the interaction and ideas on CF, but over half the trades proposed on here are literally so stupidly weighted in one teams favor I feel dumb for reading them, this fit into that category. I’ve said it before but Byram and Newhook are 3 of the Avs 5 most important players not only because of their talent and the positions they play, but because of their contracts there is literally no player in the league they would bundle both of them for because of that.
