This is a joke right?

This would hardly get you a Malkin signed jersey.

For someone on a big contract who is already declining, I'd say a solid young defenseman, 2 2nd round picks, and a B prospect is a pretty good return.

I don’t know Florida’s prospect pool, but for a year and a half of age 36 malkin, I would imagine that’s about right for a return. Might need to make one of those picks a 1st, but he certainly won’t bring a Kings ransom like some people would demand.

So youre taking a sample size of 16 games over 263 games? Got it

Only considering past stats is how you get 91 overall Drew Doughty in NHL 21. You need to look at present over past, especially if it's an older guy like Malkin.

And only looking at 16 game sample is stupid. You are wrong when you said "already declining".

You’ll be severely disappointed when you barely get this as a return for him. Maybe this season is a fluke for malkin but no one can take on 9.5 million for 2 seasons especially for below expected production.

Well hes not getting traded. And even if he did, hes bringing back way more than this proposal. Especially half retained

This is a pretty solid proposal. He probably won’t get traded but pit ain’t getting better anytime soon. And if they continue to play the way they do and not trade off assets. It’s gonna go back to early 2000’s Pittsburgh dark days.

If he's so declining with such a big contract.........why are you trading for him?

You're getting him 50% retained, he's still a high-end talent, Panthers are not particularly strong at C after Barkov. He's worth more than a cap dump, a question mark, and a couple of throwaway picks.

Some other team will 100% beat this offer
