You're kidding right? Namestnikov is signed to a very team friendly contract noway in hell are we retaining 50% on him. He's a local kid and we're not trading him i guess he could be an expansion draft fodder though.

I'm aware that Yzerman likes him and that he's from Michigan, so it's probably a long-shot. I just thought I'd ask. What would it take for you to move him with and without retention?

His low caphit and extra year of term is probably going to get some teams interested, sort of like the Coleman and Goodrow trades where they had low caphits and an extra year.

If it were me with 50% retention on Namestnikov i'd be asking for a late 2nd round pick, Without retention possibly a 3rd rounder should suffice.

Thanks. I figured that a 3rd was a solid starting point, and then added Beaucage and Kamenev (or any other B prospect) to compensate Detroit for the retention, which seemed fair to me. I'd really push for retention because an extra $1m would make a big difference to Colorado next year.

Honestly it's not a bad offer, Just not sure Stevie would do it he drafted him in Tampa and also played with his Uncle Slava Kozlov Russian Five and all a lot of history with him and Stevie.
