Colorado traded 2 2nd rounders for Devon Toews and a lot of teams who don't want to lose unprotected players for nothing during an expansion may take discount deals because its either you take something or get nothing, but yeah maybe it should be Woo/Gaudette and a 2nd and 3rd

canes are going to protect pesce. gardiner,skjei, and flery are going unprotected pesce has been too good to not protect. also isles traded toews because they didn't have the cap to sign him, pulock and barzal and also because they have mayfield, greene, dobson and hickey to replace him

Why would the Canes not protect Pesce?
