Yeah I call bull**** on that. No way would Dubas give up that much for a lateral move. Nylander is at the very least equal to Forsberg. Also the Leafs are dealing with injuries, why would Dubas take out a top 6 winger, currently a top 4 defenceman (due to injury) and his top RD on the farm team for a guy we couldn't use for 2 weeks. Who is not even an upgrade over Nylander and also needs a new contract at the same time as Rielly. This is all just bs speculation to garner clicks.

Still makes zero sense. It's pure speculation and there are no insiders here. The source is his imagination. Friedman says there had been talks with Granlund in the off season and now any hockey writer looking for clicks will make up trades to fuel the fire. There is zero logic behind any of it. A) the Leafs are giving up way too much B) the quarantine leaves them with a huge whole for 2 weeks and c) the current injury issues in TO make it even worse since we would then be left with Marincin playing and Lehtonen in the top 4. May as well scrap the season if this is the sort of nonsense the team wants to do. They are in first and are weathering injuries, making a trade like this guts their defensive depth and doesn't improve their roster. Obvious bs

That'd be a good move for Nashville IMO. Nylander is quite good and still young/locked up for a while. Dermott frees Nashville to trade Ekholm and Liljegren could free Nashville up to trade Fabbro if they really wanted to. Trading those two could net some good forward talent/prospects coupled with Nylander could give Nashville a youth infusion and turn things around. A top 5 pick in this draft could get Nashville a LHD replacement for Ekholm long term while Dermott fills in temporarily. It would signal Nashville is packing it in this season but they should do that anyways since it's near impossible to come back from the start we had.

Not sure why Leafs would do it though... Forsberg is the better overall players at the moment but Nylander still has some room to grow. Dermott is a good cheap dman and Liljegren is a good prospect.

I definitely agree, with the quarantine it makes it a lot more difficult.
