You want Buf to retain and give a 2nd? No shot

This isn't going all-in, not even close.

Going all-in entails putting all the trade chips on the table including the 1st and some good prospects to acquire impact players for the playoffs. A bunch of 4th liners and a 2nd round pick in return is hardly what you'd call impact players.

That is true, a valid argument for sure. But for what the Avalanche look like their gonna do this TDL this would be the all in version. What I’m saying is compared to what the Avalanche are lining up to this would be the all in side.
And ofc I don’t know what their gonna do, but I’m estimating their gonna to have a smaller TDL.

Would you think it be a better and more evenly matched trade without the second?
I guess so but it depends on how Timmins plays

Timmins has played less than 20 NHL games he is not worth a top 4 dman AND a second. COL should be giving up the pick up anything

Montour is a pending UFA.

Timmins is a 22 year old RHD with realistic top 4 potential who also happens to be exempt from the expansion draft.

Pretty easy to see why Buffalo would be the ones adding. Not that Colorado should have any interest in this trade to begin with.

Sakic needs to address two holes at the deadline: 3C and 3G, and possibly also 3LW. None of these pieces fill those needs, so I think it's fairly safe to say that these won't be the moves made.

Hawks aren't going to move David Kampf and seeing that you don't have him in the lineup, seems to not be an important piece to the Avs.

Janmark for Compher really would be the trade IMO

Buffalo fans ask would Eakin and Hutton fill those needs and please make an offer if you think they would work?
Do you think Sakic would have an interest in Staal, if yes please make an offer for him as well.
EDIT:
Let me add, Krueger seems to make every player underperform, regardless Eakin has been a great FO center.

Eakin is more of a 4C, or low-end 3C. I think Avs need a bit more than that.

Staal would be of interest presuming that he hasn't completely fallen off a cliff. Offer would be Compher or a 3rd.

Hutton maybe, but would be pretty low on the list of targets. It's been suggested before on here by Buffalo fans who agreed on Hutton (50% retained) for a 4th.
