Why would you trade for that contract?

Skinner actually playing with NHL talent at 6M vs AHL B teamers could be intriguing. But Buf is better off not doing anything with him. Just gotta say we suck, will always suck, and pay your admission to watch the other team. Don’t kick the suck years down the road

Skinner is an effective player. The contract is bad but if he's used properly (which Krueger isn't doing right now), he can at least be a 2nd line player. I just don't want him because of his contract.

Forgetting everything related to salaries, contracts, who is involved in the trades, retentions...forget it all for just a min. Is Jeff Skinner the type of player who plays like a Bruin?

Seems like this person hasn’t watched Skinner since he was playing for an extension

I know you don’t like him, but his underlying numbers are still solid. And his most common line mates being Lazar, Sobotka, and Marcus Johansson doesn’t give him a ton to work with. Still at 9 per, you expect more (obviously). There’s more to blame then just him and playing on a contract year. Ralph has no clue

Sabres got duped into taking skinner in a contract year. Everyone talks about ‘underlying numbers’ with him.

Bottom line, his idea of defense is to try to strip the puck for a breakaway. I watched it for the better part of a decade, and it’s no different.

Contract is tough. But even if you got 4 or 5 years of solid hockey might be worth it. Not to mention a potential lottery pick.

You mean one man got duped and promptly fired. Skinner is 100% a top six player. Defense isn’t his strong suit, but since coming in he’s like what top 10 in even strength goals. And draws a **** ton of penalties. Not gonna say he’s a perfect player by any means, and most knew the contract wasn’t going to go well when it was signed, but you do kinda act like he shouldn’t be in the league at all.

I don't use a single season to evaluate players. He hasn't been playing as good as he was 2 years ago but Skinner hasn't been used properly. He had the 6th best quality of teammates among Sabres' forwards last season and 10th behind guys like Thompson, Rieder and Okposo this year. He's been great in transition and great defensively. Can probably get 20G-20A on a great team that uses him as a top6 F.

Skinner can 100% be better. But that’s just speculation and his time in Buffalo hasn’t provided any evidence. The idea of him getting back to his old numbers in Boston is enticing, but I don’t think the conversation even starts without Buffalo retaining salary AND offering sweeteners. If the Sabres retain $3MM/year and send a 1st or a couple 2nds, consider me interested.

How to ruin 2 franchises with one trade.

Nash makes sense. Bit pricey. Swap Urho for Zboril or take out Bjork or they take Moore too.
